Job Purpose To generate and convert enquiries for the laboratory's accredited and non-accredited calibration services, act as the technical interface between customers and the laboratory, and ensure every accepted job falls within the laboratory's declared scope and capability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development

- Identify and approach prospective customers across process industries, OEMs, automotive, pharma, power, and engineering workshops.
- Build a territory plan and maintain a live prospect pipeline with follow-up status.
- Promote both laboratory calibration and on-site calibration services.
- Represent the laboratory at exhibitions, vendor meets, and customer audits.

2. Technical Enquiry Handling

- Understand customer requirements in terms of parameter, range, resolution, and accuracy of the unit under calibration.
- Verify whether the requirement falls within the laboratory's NABL Scope of Accreditation and CMC before committing.
- Advise customers on applicable measurement parameters, calibration points, and accreditation status (accredited vs. non-accredited reporting).
- Escalate out-of-scope or borderline requirements to the Technical Manager rather than accepting them independently.

3. Quotation, Contract Review and Order Processing

- Prepare and issue quotations with correct parameter description, charges, and turnaround time.
- Support the Review of Requests, Tenders and Contracts process (ISO/IEC 17025:2017, Clause 7.1), including recording differences resolved with the customer before work begins.
- Follow up on quotations, negotiate within approved commercial limits, and process purchase orders.
- Communicate any deviation from agreed contract to the customer promptly.

4. Customer Relationship Management

- Maintain a customer master with calibration due dates and issue recall reminders ahead of due dates.
- Handle status enquiries, delivery follow-ups, and dispatch coordination.




- Collect customer feedback and route it into the laboratory's feedback process (Clause 8.6.2).
- Receive complaints and forward them to the designated authority for handling under the complaints procedure (Clause 7.9) without independently committing to resolutions.

5. Coordination with the Laboratory

- Coordinate job scheduling, priority/urgent jobs, and in office calibration visits with laboratory personnel.
- Confirm realistic turnaround times with the laboratory before committing dates to customers.
- Ensure incoming items are accompanied by correct identification and customer requirements.

6. Marketing Communication

- Prepare and update service brochures, capability statements, scope summaries, and presentations.
- Maintain website, LinkedIn, IndiaMART/portal listings and enquiry response.
- Ensure all promotional material uses the NABL and ILAC MRA marks strictly as permitted by the accreditation body's rules, and only with approval of the Quality Manager.

7. Reporting

- Submit monthly enquiry, conversion, revenue, and lost-order analysis.
- Report market intelligence on competitor pricing, turnaround times, and emerging parameter demand.

Impartiality Requirement The Marketing Engineer shall not exert or transmit any commercial, financial, or schedule pressure that could influence calibration results, measurement decisions, or statements of conformity. Compliance with the laboratory's impartiality policy (Clause 4.1) is a condition of the role.

Skills and Competencies

- Working knowledge of measurement units, accuracy, uncertainty, and traceability concepts
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and NABL scope terminology (desirable; training will be provided)
- Ability to read instrument datasheets and specifications
- Clear written and spoken English and Tamil; Hindi an advantage
- MS Office, CRM/ERP data entry, quotation preparation
- Valid two-wheeler/four-wheeler licence and willingness to travel

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
