Role Description The Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Jammu & Kashmir, India. This role is responsible for monitoring and enforcing health, safety, and security standards on construction sites, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include conducting site inspections, identifying hazards, implementing preventive measures, and overseeing the use of personal protective equipment.

The Safety

Officer will organize safety briefings and training sessions for site personnel, maintain incident and accident records, and lead accident investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.



The role also involves collaborating with project managers and supervisors to integrate safety practices into work plans and promoting a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Occupational Health practices, with the ability to apply regulations and standards to construction environments.
- Experience in Accident Investigation, including incident reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Competence in Safety Training, with the ability to deliver toolbox talks, induction programs, and ongoing safety awareness sessions.
- Understanding of Security measures relevant to construction sites, including access control and protection of people and property.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; professional safety certifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in construction or industrial settings.
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide site teams on safe work practices.
- Ability to work on-site, conduct field inspections in varying conditions, and respond promptly to safety concerns.
- Proficiency in maintaining safety documentation and using basic computer applications for reporting and recordkeeping.
