: EHS Safety Officer

Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced EHS Safety Officer for our Foundry Division to ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety practices, conducting risk assessments, ensuring statutory compliance, and promoting a safe working culture across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure implementation and compliance with EHS policies, safety procedures, and statutory requirements within the foundry operations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify unsafe conditions and unsafe practices.
- Prepare and implement safety improvement plans and corrective actions.
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Ensure compliance with factory safety regulations, ISO standards, and applicable EHS requirements.
- Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contract workers.
- Monitor usage and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, helmets, gloves, masks, and other safety gear.
- Investigate workplace accidents, near misses, and incidents; prepare reports and preventive action plans.
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, incident reports, and EHS documentation.
- Conduct emergency preparedness drills including fire safety and evacuation drills.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance,
and other departments for implementation of safety standards.
- Monitor environmental aspects such as waste management, pollution control, and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure safe handling of molten metal, furnaces, pouring activities, material handling equipment, and foundry-specific hazards.
- Support internal and external safety audits.
Required Qualification:
- Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial Safety / Environmental Engineering.
- Diploma in Industrial Safety (preferred).
- Relevant certification in Fire & Safety / EHS will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 25 years of experience in EHS/Safety function in Iron & Steel, Foundry, Manufacturing, or Heavy Engineering Industry.
- Candidates with foundry safety experience will be preferred.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of Factory Act, Safety Rules, and statutory compliance.
- Knowledge of HIRA, JSA, PPE management, and incident investigation.
- Valuable communication and training skills.
- Ability to identify workplace hazards and implement preventive measures.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office for safety reporting and documentation.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Experience in iron casting / foundry operations.
- Hands-on exposure to furnace, molding, core shop, fettling, shot blasting, and material handling safety practices.
- Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
