Role Description The Roto Artist will be responsible for creating precise mattes and rotoscoped elements that support seamless compositing and high-quality visual effects across feature films, OTT content, web series, and commercials. Day-to-day tasks include tracing and refining object and character outlines, isolating elements for keying and paint work, collaborating closely with compositors and VFX supervisors,



and ensuring clean edge quality and consistent frame-to-frame continuity. The role involves reviewing plates, interpreting shot requirements, organizing layers and sequences, and adhering to project naming conventions and production workflows.

This is a full-time, on-site role based at the I-Matte Media studio in Chennai, requiring consistent coordination with the in-house VFX team and adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Strong rotoscoping skills with the ability to create accurate mattes and clean edges for complex shots.
- Proficiency in Keying and Paint workflows, including the ability to assist with background cleanup and element isolation.
- Experience with Motion Tracking and integration of roto elements into tracked shots for seamless compositing.
- Foundational Art skills, including an understanding of form, movement, and visual composition.
- Hands-on experience with Computer Graphics tools and industry-standard VFX/roto software (e.g., Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha, or similar).
- Attention to detail, strong visual judgment, and the ability to follow creative direction and technical guidelines.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Animation, VFX, Fine Arts, Computer Graphics, or a related discipline; prior studio experience is an advantage.
