Physical AI & Robotics Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement autonomous robotic systems for real-world applications.
- Develop motion planning and trajectory generation algorithms for robotic manipulators, mobile robots, and humanoid robots.
- Implement and optimize Forward Kinematics (FK), Inverse Kinematics (IK), and robot dynamics for multi-DOF robotic systems.
- Develop collision-aware motion planning, including path planning, trajectory optimization, manipulation planning, whole-body motion planning, and collision detection/avoidance.
- Build perception pipelines using RGB cameras,depth cameras, LiDAR, IMU, and other sensors.
- Develop algorithms for object detection and tracking, object pose estimation, 3D perception, scene understanding, semantic segmentation, and sensor fusion.
- Implement and optimize SLAM, localization, mapping,and navigation systems.
- Develop and integrate Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO), LiDAR SLAM, RGB-D SLAM, and multi-sensor localization pipelines.
- Develop AI-powered robotic systems using Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and multimodal foundation models.
- Design Agentic AI architectures that enable robots to reason,decompose tasks, use tools, plan actions, and execute complex multi-step tasks.
- Integrate high-level AI reasoning with low-level robotcontrol and motion planning.
- Develop robotic task planning systems connecting natural language, task planning, motion planning, and robot actions.
- Work with simulation environments for robot development, testing, and validation.
- Deploy and optimize robotics and AI workloads on edge computers, GPU workstations, or embedded platforms.
- Integrate perception, planning,AI, and control modules into complete end-to-end robotic systems.
- Debug and optimize real-world robotic performance, including sensor calibration, coordinate transformations, latency, synchronization, and hardware/software integration.
- Collaborate with AI engineers, mechanical engineers, control engineers, and research teams.
Required Technical Skills Robotics & Motion Planning
- Robust understanding of Forward Kinematics (FK), Inverse Kinematics (IK), Jacobians, coordinate transformations, robot dynamics, and control fundamentals.
- Experience with sampling-based planning, RRT / RRT*, PRM, trajectory optimization, Model Predictive Control (MPC), manipulation planning,and whole-body controlor planning.
Perception &Computer; Vision
- Strong knowledgeof computer vision,3D vision, depth perception, point cloud processing, object detection and segmentation, object pose estimation, and multi-object tracking.
- Experience with RGB, RGB-D, stereocameras, LiDAR, and IMU sensors.
- Experience with sensorcalibration and coordinate frame transformations.
Localization & SLAM
- Experience with one or more of visual SLAM, RGB-D SLAM, LiDAR SLAM, Visual-Inertial Odometry, sensor fusion, localization, and mapping.
- Understanding of Kalman filters,Extended Kalman Filters(EKF), particle filters,pose graph optimization, and bundle adjustment.
AI & Physical AI
- Experience with deep learning frameworkssuch as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Understanding of Vision-Language Models (VLMs), Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, multimodal AI, and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience buildingAgentic AI systemscapable of task decomposition, planning, tool/function calling, memory and context management, and autonomous decision-making.
- Interest or experience in connecting foundation models with physicalrobotic actions.
Software & RoboticsFrameworks
- Strong programming skillsin Python and/orC++.
- Experience with ROS / ROS 2.
- Experience with MoveIt / MoveIt 2, Gazebo, IsaacSim, NVIDIA IsaacROS, RViz, OpenCV,Open3D, and PCL.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience workingwith humanoid robots,robotic arms, mobilemanipulators, quadrupeds, or autonomous mobile robots.
- Experience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, MuJoCo, or other robotics simulators.
- Knowledge of imitationlearning, reinforcement learning, or robot learning.
- Experience with sim-to-real transfer and domainrandomization.
- Experience optimizing AI models for edge devices or GPU-basedrobotic systems.
- Knowledge of real-timesystems, distributed roboticsarchitectures, and client-server communication.
- Experience with Docker, Linux, Git, and CI/CD workflows.
- Research experience or contributions to open-source roboticsor AI projects is a plus.
