Key Responsibilities
1. Proposal Engineering & Conceptualisation
- Study and analyse customer RFQs, URS, layouts, and application data.
- Develop robotic cell concepts for:
- Arc Welding (MIG & Special Welding Applications)
- Material Handling (Pick & Place, Palletizing, Machine Tending, Part Transfer)
- Create concept layouts, process flow diagrams, and technical solution descriptions.
- Select appropriate industrial robots, welding power sources, positioners, tracks, grippers, fixtures, and safety systems.
1. Costing, Estimation & Optimisation
- Prepare detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and system costing.
- Estimate costs for robots, welding equipment, safety components, panels, PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, and mechanical structures.
- Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and internal teams for accurate pricing.
- Optimize solutions balancing cost, performance, and reliability.
1. Techno-Commercial Proposal Preparation
- Prepare qualified techno-commercial proposals aligned with Thywork standards.
- Define clear scope of supply, system description, assumptions, exclusions, and compliance statements.
- Support sales team during customer discussions, presentations, and technical clarifications.
1. Application Feasibility & Engineering Support
- Perform basic cycle time calculations and reach studies.
- Evaluate welding process feasibility and takt time compliance.
- Support simulations, trials, or proof-of-concept activities when required.
1. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Sales & Business Development, Design, Controls, and Execution engineering teams, and Purchase and Vendor Development.
- Ensure smooth proposal-to-execution handover after order finalization.
