Restaurant General Manager

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Restaurant General Manager (GM) to oversee the complete day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, strong team performance, operational discipline, guest satisfaction, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Restaurant Setup & Systems: Set up and manage backend restaurant software, including menu items, modifiers, pricing, inventory and operational workflows.
- SOPs & Training: Develop and implement opening/closing checklists, service SOPs, and train waiters, captains and operational teams.
- Service Operations: Establish efficient processes for table setup, service sequence, table clearance, billing and overall guest experience.
- Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate and coordinate with vendors for operational supplies, equipment, consumables and restaurant requirements.
- Guest Experience: Manage reservations, table allocation, VIP guests, no-shows, complaints and guest disputes while maintaining high service standards.
- Team Management: Supervise and motivate the restaurant team, manage rosters, attendance, performance and daily briefings.
- Sales & Promotions: Drive restaurant promotions, food festivals, special events and marketing initiatives in coordination with the management/marketing team.
- Cost & Controls: Monitor food, beverage, wastage,



inventory and operational costs; identify discrepancies and coordinate with accounts to resolve billing and financial irregularities.
- Daily Operations: Conduct daily operational checks covering cleanliness, maintenance, service readiness, stock availability, staff grooming and overall restaurant preparedness.
- Reporting: Maintain and review daily sales, covers, average spend, voids, discounts, complimentary bills, wastage and other key operational reports.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, fire safety, licensing and other applicable restaurant regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify operational gaps and implement systems and processes to improve efficiency, guest satisfaction and profitability.

Ideal Candidate

- 5+ years of experience in restaurant/hospitality operations, preferably in a GM / Restaurant Manager / Operations Manager role.
- Strong understanding of front-of-house operations, restaurant technology, SOPs, team management, guest relations and cost controls.
- Hands-on, organised and capable of setting up systems and processes from the ground up.
- Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
