R&D; ENGINEER – Furniture

Location : Changodar Ahmedabad

Responsibilities

- Develop detailed furniture designs that combine functionality, aesthetics, and ergonomics.

- Create and refine design concepts using CAD software and engineering principles.

- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and schematics for manufacturing and assembly.

- Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks.

- Select appropriate materials and components for furniture based on performance, cost, and aesthetic criteria.

- Evaluate and recommend recent materials and technologies to enhance product design.

- Oversee the creation of prototypes, conducting tests to validate design functionality, durability, and user comfort.

- Analyse test results and make necessary design modifications to address performance issues.

- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective to produce.

- Address any design or production issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

- Manage design projects from concept through production, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and project goals.





- Resolve technical challenges and design issues creatively and efficiently.

- Maintain comprehensive records of design iterations, testing results, and engineering decisions.

- Prepare reports and documentation for design reviews, project updates, and compliance purposes.

- Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of manufactured products to ensure quality and consistency.

Qualifications

- 3-5 years of experience in R&D;, product development, or design engineering, preferably within the furniture industry

- Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Required Skills

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Fusion, ZW Cad, Pytha 3d) and other engineering design tools.

- DFM & DFA proficiency is mandatory

- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and ergonomics.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Effective communication and project management abilities.

- Experience with prototype development and testing is a plus.
