Role & responsibilities
Senior Integration Engineer Reltio MDM
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to join our Data Management capability, specializing in Reltio MDM implementations. This is a senior, hands-on technical role for someone who has spent 5-8 years building enterprise-grade master data management solutions and wants to drive design decisions.
You'll be joining a growing Data Management practice that partners with enterprise clients across BFSI, healthcare, and retail sectors to design and implement MDM programs on Reltio. You will work alongside data architects, data stewards, and client-side IT teams, and act as the technical anchor for integration workstreams within your engagements. You'll also be expected to mentor 2-4 junior/mid-level engineers, review their work, and help shape our internal Reltio delivery standards and reusable accelerators.
This role sits at the intersection of platform expertise and integration engineering you're not just configuring Reltio, you're designing how data flows into it, through it, and out of it, reliably and at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end integration architectures connecting Reltio MDM with upstream/downstream systems (CRM, ERP, data warehouses, event streaming platforms)
- Build and configure Reltio Integration Hub (RIH) recipe for batch and real-time data ingestion, transformation, and survivorship
- Develop match & merge rules, survivorship strategies, and data quality rules within Reltio based on client business requirements
- Write and optimize Python scripts for custom data transformations, API-based integrations, and automation of Reltio workflows
- Design and tune complex SQL queries for data profiling, reconciliation, and validation across source and target systems
- Configure Reltio entity models, relationships, hierarchies, and business rules aligned to client data governance frameworks
- Build and maintain RESTful API integrations with Reltio (Clean Match, Search, Console APIs) for real-time and batch use cases
- Troubleshoot production data integration issues, perform root-cause analysis,
and implement permanent fixes rather than workarounds
- Lead technical design discussions with client stakeholders, translating business data requirements into scalable integration design
- Mentor junior integration engineers on Reltio best practices, code quality, and integration patterns
- Contribute to internal accelerators, reusable RIH pipeline templates, and delivery playbooks to improve team velocity
- Participate in technical estimation and solution design reviews
- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance considerations are embedded in integration designs (PII handling, encryption, access controls)
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5-8 years of overall experience in data integration/data engineering, with at least 2 years of hands-on Reltio MDM implementation experience
- Strong hands-on expertise with Reltio Integration Hub (RIH) recipe design, connectors, transformation logic, and error handling
- Proficient in Python for scripting, automation, and API-based integration work
- Strong SQL skills — complex joins, window functions, performance tuning, and data reconciliation queries
- Solid understanding of MDM concepts: match & merge, survivorship, golden record management, data stewardship workflows
- Practical experience integrating Reltio with external systems via REST APIs (Clean Match API, Search API, Entity API)
- Experience with data ingestion patterns — batch, real-time/streaming (Kafka or similar), and file-based (SFTP, cloud storage)
- Understanding of data modeling concepts — entity types, relationships, hierarchies within an MDM context
- Experience working with at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for integration workloads
- Strong debugging skills — able to trace issues across multi-system data pipelines under production pressure
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and reviewing code/configuration for quality and scalability
Nice-to-Haves
- Reltio certification(s) (Reltio Certified Developer/Architect)
- Experience with other MDM platforms (Informatica MDM, Stibo, SAP MDG) for comparative architecture perspective
- Exposure to data governance and data quality tools (Informatica DQ, Collibra, Talend)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for MDM deployments (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Experience with containerization (Docker) for integration microservices
- Prior consulting/client-facing delivery experience in a professional services workplace
- Working knowledge of message queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ) for event-driven MDM architectures
What We Offer
- Opportunity to work on marquee enterprise MDM programs with direct client exposure
- A defined growth path toward Data Architect / Technical Lead / Practice Lead roles within 18-24 months based on performance
- Structured mentorship responsibilities that build your leadership and client-facing skills alongside technical depth
- Investment in Reltio and adjacent certifications, conference attendance, and internal tech guild participation
- Cross-industry exposure (BFSI, healthcare, retail) rather than being siloed into a single domain
- Competitive compensation benchmarked to senior technical specialist roles in the data management consulting space
- A technical culture that values pragmatic engineering over gold-plating — we ship working MDM solutions, not just diagrams
Interview Focus Areas RIH recipe design under real constraints: candidates should be able to walk through a non-trivial recipe they built — source variety, transformation logic, error handling, and how they handled schema drift or bad data
Match/merge and survivorship reasoning**: present a messy data scenario and assess how the candidate designs match rules and survivorship logic, and how they justify trade-offs to business stakeholders
Python + SQL problem-solving: live coding or whiteboard exercise
