Assistant Manager, Reinsurance Accounting

Role Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – Reinsurance Accounting with strong experience in reinsurance accounting, premium processing, and cession accounting. The ideal candidate should have a valuable understanding of reinsurance processes, bordereaux validation, premium adjustments, and reconciliation, along with the ability to manage stakeholders and ensure accurate and timely processing.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and review reinsurance accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to process guidelines.
- Handle reinsurance premium processing, including premium adjustments and calculations.
- Process and validate reinstatement premiums and ensure accurate accounting treatment.
- Perform cession accounting and ensure accurate recording of reinsurance transactions.
- Review and validate bordereaux received from cedents, brokers, and other stakeholders.
- Perform account reconciliation and investigate discrepancies in premium and reinsurance transactions.
- Review policy, contract, and coverage details to ensure transactions are processed accurately.
- Coordinate with internal teams, brokers, cedents, and other stakeholders to resolve accounting and processing issues.
- Ensure timely completion of month-end activities, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Identify process gaps, discrepancies, and potential financial risks and support appropriate resolution.




- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Support audits, process reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Guide and support team members in resolving complex reinsurance accounting queries.

Required Skills & Experience

- Experience in Reinsurance Accounting / Insurance Accounting / Reinsurance Operations.
- Strong knowledge of premium processing, premium adjustments, reinstatement premiums, cession accounting, and bordereaux validation.
- Good understanding of reinsurance contracts, policies, and accounting processes.
- Experience in reconciliation, reporting, and resolving accounting discrepancies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple activities and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience in team handling or process supervision would be an advantage.

Preferred Background

- Candidates with experience in Reinsurance Accounting, Finance Operations, Insurance Operations, or Reinsurance Processing.
- Exposure to international insurance/reinsurance markets such as UK/Lloyd’s would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and relevant insurance/reinsurance accounting systems.
