We are looking for an experienced Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) High Availability Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Pacemaker, Corosync, RHEL HA Add-On, shared storage and cluster management.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, configuring and validating highly available RHEL environments across enterprise infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement RHEL High Availability clusters using Pacemaker and Corosync.
- Configure and manage RHEL HA Add-On across production environments.
- Configure and manage HA resource groups for application, database and NFS workloads.
- Work on shared storage architecture using RHEL Resilient Storage components.
- Configure and validate STONITH/fencing mechanisms using IPMI, iLO, iDRAC or virtual fencing agents.
- Perform cluster installation, configuration, upgrades and validation.
- Troubleshoot cluster, networking, storage and resource-related issues.
- Configure appropriate resource dependencies, ordering and monitoring within Pacemaker.
- Perform failover and recovery testing, including controlled switchovers and node failure scenarios.
- Validate cluster behaviour during network isolation and fencing scenarios.
- Provide technical support for data migration activities from legacy storage to RHEL-managed storage.
- Perform RHEL environment performance tuning and optimization based on Red Hat best practices.
- Prepare technical/deployment documentation and conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for operations teams.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with RHEL Administration.
- Strong experience with Red Hat Pacemaker & Corosync.
- Experience with RHEL HA Add-On.
- Valuable understanding of High Availability and cluster architecture.
- Experience with STONITH/Fencing IPMI, iLO, iDRAC or equivalent.
- Experience with shared storage and RHEL Resilient Storage.
- Good understanding of NFS and storage management.
- Experience managing HA resource groups and dependencies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Linux, networking and storage.
- Experience with cluster failover, recovery and validation testing.
- Good understanding of RHEL system administration, patching and configuration.
Good to Have
- Experience working with database HA environments.
- Experience with legacy cluster migration.
- Exposure to Veritas Cluster / Veritas storage environments.
- Experience with enterprise SAN/storage environments.
- Red Hat certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE or relevant RHEL/HA certifications.
- Experience preparing LLD/technical deployment documentation.
