Job Purpose To ensure that all incoming coils and processed sheets/plates meet the required quality, dimensional and customer specifications before production, storage and dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect incoming HR, CR and Colour Coils for visible damage, rust, dents, scratches, coating defects and other quality issues.

Verify coil specifications, thickness, width, grade, colour and quantity against Purchase Order / Supplier documents.

Check the quality of sheets and plates after cutting/slitting/processing.

Verify length, width, thickness, squareness and cutting accuracy as per customer requirement.

Identify and segregate damaged, defective, rejected or non-conforming material.

Conduct random/final inspection before material is dispatched to customers.

Ensure proper stacking, handling and protection of finished sheets/plates to avoid damage.

Coordinate with Machine Operators and Production/Operations Team when quality deviations are identified.





Maintain Incoming Material Inspection Reports and Production Quality Checklists.

Record rejection, rework, damage and quality deviation data.

Report repeated quality issues to the Operations Manager and management.

Support investigation of customer complaints related to material quality, dimensions or cutting.

Ensure correct identification/tagging of inspected and approved material.

Monitor whether machines are producing material within the required dimensional tolerance.

Coordinate with Purchase/Sales teams whenever supplier material or customer specifications require clarification.

Experience

14 years of experience in steel processing, sheet/plate cutting, coil processing, fabrication, warehouse quality or a similar setting.

Preferred: Experience in HR/CR/Colour Coil, sheet cutting or steel distribution/processing.
