About the Role

Karanji Infotech Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a QA Tester to join our GenAI Practice in Mangaluru.

The role involves taking ownership of quality assurance for AI-powered applications, with a robust focus on Manual Testing, API Testing, Web Application Testing, Performance Testing, and GenAI application testing.

The ideal candidate should be analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable identifying edge cases and testing beyond the happy path.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and execute functional, regression, integration, system and negative test cases.
- Test web applications, APIs and backend workflows.
- Validate data flow, integrations, authentication, error handling and business rules.
- Test GenAI applications for response accuracy, relevance, consistency and hallucinations.
- Identify edge cases and unsupported responses.
- Perform load and performance testing on applications and APIs.
- Perform application security testing covering authentication, authorization, input validation, session handling and data exposure.
- Document and track defects with clear reproduction steps and expected vs. actual results.
- Verify fixes and work closely with developers.
- Establish QA standards, checklists and testing processes for GenAI projects and POCs.

Required Skills
- 3–5 years of experience in Software Testing / QA.
- Strong knowledge of Manual Testing and test case design.
- Hands-on experience in Web Application Testing.
- Hands-on experience in API Testing.
- Strong knowledge of Postman.




- Experience with Jira for defect tracking and test management.
- Basic knowledge of SQL / Database Querying.
- Knowledge of browser Developer Tools.
- Working knowledge of JMeter or an equivalent load/performance testing tool.
- Good understanding of SDLC and STLC.
- Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and application security testing fundamentals.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and documentation skills.

- OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite
- Git / GitHub
- Swagger / OpenAPI
- Usability Testing
- GenAI / LLM / RAG / Chatbot Testing

GenAI Testing – Preferred

Experience in testing

- AI chatbots
- RAG and knowledge-based systems
- LLM-based applications
- AI response accuracy and relevance
- Hallucinations and unsupported responses
- Prompt variations and adversarial inputs
- Prompt injection and data leakage
- Access-control scenarios
- Response latency under concurrent load

Automation testing is desirable but not mandatory. Strong Manual Testing and API Testing experience is more important for this position.

We are looking for someone who does more than execute predefined test cases. The candidate should be able to question requirements, identify risks, think beyond happy-path scenarios, identify edge cases and work closely with developers to improve product quality.
