Tax1099 supports a wide range of tax and compliance workflows, including 1099, W-2, 1095, and other forms, along with vendor management, TIN matching, integrations, and API-based filing capabilities.

The Role

We are hiring a QA Engineer with 3+ years of experience to ensure the quality and reliability of theTax1099 platform. This role requires strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing, UI Testing,Automation using Playwright with TypeScript, and API Testing.

You will be responsible for testing critical tax filing and compliance workflows across the Tax1099 product,identifying functional gaps and edge cases, and ensuring a high-quality experience for customers.

The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in manual testing, with hands-on experience in UIautomation and API testing. You should be comfortable understanding business requirements, creating comprehensive test scenarios, and validating end-to-end product workflows.

What You Will Do

- Analyze product requirements and design comprehensive test scenarios and test cases coveringpositive, negative, boundary, and edge-case scenarios.




- Perform UI and functional testing of the Tax1099 web application across different workflows and userjourneys.
- Perform regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
- Validate critical tax filing and compliance workflows to ensure functionality, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Develop and maintain automated UI tests using Playwright with TypeScript.
- Identify appropriate test scenarios for automation and maintain reusable, reliable automation scripts.
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools, with a strong understanding of HTTP methods,status codes, request/response validation, headers, authentication, and error handling.
- Validate data consistency between the UI, APIs, and backend systems.
- Identify, document, track, and verify defects using Jira, providing clear reproduction steps and supportingevidence
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to understandrequirements and resolve defects.
- Analyze automation failures, troubleshoot issues, and improve automation coverage and frameworkstability.
- Execute automated regression suites and integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Perform release validation and communicate test results, quality risks, and release readiness.
- Maintain test cases, automation scripts, test data, and QA documentation.
- Contribute to improving testing processes, test coverage,



automation practices, and overall productquality.

What You Will Bring

- 3+ years of QA experience with strong hands-on experience in Manual Testing and UI Testing.
- Strong understanding of functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript for UI automation.
- Experience in API Testing using Postman or similar tools, with a strong understanding of HTTPmethods, status codes, request/response validation, headers, authentication, and error handling.
- Good understanding of SDLC, STLC, test case design techniques, and defect life cycle.
- Experience with Jira or similar defect management tools.
- Experience with Git and basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Solid analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly when validating financial and tax-related data.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with JMeter for performance and load testing.
- Understanding of performance-testing concepts such as response time, throughput, concurrent users,and scalability.
- Experience with API automation.
- Experience integrating Playwright tests with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
- Experience testing fintech, tax, compliance, payments, or financial applications
- Familiarity with US tax forms, tax filing workflows, or compliance products is a plus.
