We are looking for a QA Engineer with strong Manual and Automation Testing skills to own quality across web, API, and backend layers of our banking and financial services applications. This role suits candidates with 2–10 years of overall QA experience who are comfortable driving end-to-end testing for high-stakes, regulated financial workflows — including loan origination, payments, transaction processing, and core banking systems — using a manual-first approach complemented by automation. Depending on experience, the successful candidate may work as an individual contributor within a QA team or independently own QA delivery on a project while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain test strategies, test plans, and test cases covering the full Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) — functional, system, integration, regression, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
- Perform end-to-end functional and UI testing of banking and financial applications, including loan application, verification, approval, disbursement, and repayment workflows; or payment gateway flows such as transaction processing, refunds, settlements, and merchant integrations.
- Design and execute automation test scripts using Playwright (Python or JavaScript) or Selenium, following a manual-first, risk-based automation approach to maximize regression coverage.
- Conduct REST API testing using Postman — validating request/response payloads, authentication mechanisms (OAuth/JWT/API keys), status codes, headers, and error handling for banking and payment APIs.
- Develop and maintain reusable API validation scripts and Postman collections/environments using JavaScript assertions.
- Validate backend and transactional data integrity using SQL queries against MySQL / MS SQL Server, ensuring accuracy of financial calculations, ledger entries, and reconciliation records.
- Perform performance, load, and stress testing using Apache JMeter to evaluate scalability, throughput, and response times of high-transaction-volume financial systems.
- Support security-aware testing of authentication, authorization,



session management, and input validation for sensitive financial data flows (e.g., using tools such as Burp Suite), in coordination with security teams.
- Log, track, and manage defects through the full defect lifecycle using JIRA and Zephyr; collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to drive resolution.
- Ensure test coverage and quality gates align with regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements typical of banking and fintech environments.
- Prepare test execution reports, quality metrics, and coverage dashboards for stakeholder and management review.
- Participate actively in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) to accelerate test case generation, automation scripting, and defect analysis.
- For senior candidates: mentor junior QA engineers, review test artifacts, define automation framework standards, and independently own QA delivery on select workstreams.

Required Skills & Experience

- 2–10 years of overall QA experience spanning manual and automation testing of web and API applications.
- Hands-on experience testing at least one banking, financial services, payments, or fintech application (e.g., core banking, lending/loan origination, payment gateways, digital wallets, or trading platforms) is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and execution across functional, regression, integration, smoke, and system testing.
- Working knowledge of automation using Playwright and/or Selenium with Python or JavaScript.
- Strong hands-on experience with Postman for REST API testing and validation.




- Solid SQL skills (MySQL and/or MS SQL Server) for backend and data validation.
- Experience with defect and test management tools such as JIRA and Zephyr.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins).
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in cross-functional Agile teams.
- Exposure to performance/load testing tools such as Apache JMeter is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred / Good to Have

- Prior experience testing loan management, payment processing, settlement, or reconciliation systems.
- Exposure to security testing tools (e.g., Burp Suite) for authentication, authorization, and session-management validation.
- Experience with AI-assisted testing tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) for test design and defect analysis.
- Knowledge of banking/financial regulatory or compliance considerations relevant to QA (e.g., data security, audit trails, PCI-DSS awareness).
- Experience validating AI-driven or AI-powered application features for accuracy and reliability.
- Prior experience mentoring QA engineers or independently owning QA delivery on a project.

Experience-Level Guide (2–10 Years)

- 2–4 years — QA Engineer / Quality Analyst: Executes test plans and cases under guidance; strong in manual + growing automation skills; hands-on with Postman, SQL, JIRA.
- 4–7 years — Senior QA Engineer: Owns test strategy for a module or workstream; builds automation scripts independently; leads API and performance testing; mentors junior members.
- 7–10 years — Lead QA Engineer: Owns end-to-end QA delivery across a project or product; defines automation framework and testing standards; drives quality metrics and stakeholder reporting; mentors the QA team.
