Purchase Engineer / Electrical Purchase Executive

About the Role

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer / Electrical Purchase Executive with experience in electrical procurement and project-based purchasing. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of electrical products, suppliers, quotations, negotiations, and purchase processes.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely procurement of electrical materials at competitive prices and as per project technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle end-to-end purchase and procurement activities for electrical projects.
- Source electrical materials from reliable and approved vendors.
- Obtain and compare quotations from 3–4 suppliers for project requirements.
- Evaluate quotations based on price, quality, delivery schedule, technical specifications and commercial terms.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best possible price, quality and delivery terms.
- Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Coordinate with the Projects, Engineering, Stores, Accounts and Management teams regarding material requirements.
- Ensure materials are procured strictly as per Technical Specifications (T.S.) / project requirements.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Identify new suppliers and maintain a strong vendor network.
- Follow up with vendors for order confirmation, dispatch and timely delivery.
- Check technical details and specifications of electrical products before placing orders.
- Maintain proper purchase records, quotations, comparative statements and vendor details.
- Handle vendor coding and purchase-related documentation.
- Work on ERP / Tally for purchase entries, POs and related procurement activities.
- Monitor pending purchase orders and ensure materials reach the project/site within the required timeline.




- Support cost control and ensure procurement is completed within approved budgets.

Electrical Product / Project Knowledge

Candidates with experience in procurement for electrical projects will be preferred, particularly those familiar with:

- LT & HT electrical systems
- Power supply and distribution equipment
- General electrical materials
- Street lighting
- Facade lighting
- Railway electrical projects
- Electrical distribution projects
- Project-specific electrical materials and equipment

Candidate Profile

Education

- B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering or
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Experience

- Prior experience in Electrical Purchase / Procurement is preferred.
- Experience in electrical contracting, infrastructure, railway, government projects, power distribution, lighting or similar industries will be an advantage.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of electrical products and technical specifications.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to compare and evaluate multiple quotations.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to understand project material requirements.
- Working knowledge of ERP and Tally.
- Positive follow-up skills and ability to work within deadlines.
- Strong commercial understanding and cost-conscious approach.

Preferred Experience

Candidates who have worked in Electrical Contractors, EPC Companies, Infrastructure Companies, Railway Projects, Government Projects, Power Distribution, Lighting Projects or Electrical Manufacturing/Trading Companies are encouraged to apply.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the complete electrical purchase process — from receiving the material requirement, obtaining quotations and negotiating with suppliers to generating the PO and ensuring timely delivery of the required material.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
