Role Description The Pulses Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations in the pulses processing unit at Defne India’s in office facility in Gujarat, India. This full-time role includes supervising sorting, cleaning, grading, and packing of pulses, ensuring that all processes meet quality, safety, and hygiene standards.

Foreman coordinates worker schedules, assigns tasks, and monitors performance to maintain productivity and minimize downtime. The role involves checking raw material quality, maintaining records of production, and reporting any operational issues to management for timely resolution.

Qualifications

- Experience in pulses or grain processing operations, including supervision of cleaning, grading, and packing activities.
- Strong knowledge of quality control practices, food safety standards, and hygiene requirements in agricultural or food-processing environments.
- Ability to lead and motivate on-site teams, manage shifts, and allocate tasks effectively to meet production targets.
- Competence in basic record-keeping, reporting, and use of simple production documentation or inventory systems.
- Understanding of equipment used in pulses processing and ability to coordinate with maintenance staff for routine checks and minor troubleshooting.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with operations, quality, and logistics teams.
- Prior experience as a foreman or supervisor in agriculture, food processing, or related manufacturing is preferred.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in agriculture, food technology, or industrial operations is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site in Gujarat and adhere to Defne India’s safety, ethical sourcing, and quality standards.
