Job Purpose The Primary Teacher (PRT) - Gujarati is responsible for teaching Gujarati language to primary school students, fostering language proficiency, communication skills, reading habits, and appreciation of Gujarati literature and culture. The teacher shall create an engaging learning workplace that supports the academic, emotional, and social development of students.
Key Roles & Responsibilities1. Teaching & Learning
- Teach Gujarati language to students as per the prescribed curriculum and school guidelines.
- Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in Gujarati.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, teaching aids, and assessments.
- Use innovative and child-centric teaching methodologies to enhance classroom learning.
- Integrate activity-based and experiential learning practices.
1. Classroom Management
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Ensure effective classroom management and student engagement.
- Foster respect, cooperation, and positive behavior among students.
- Monitor attendance and maintain classroom records.
1. Student Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct periodic assessments, tests, and assignments.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Maintain student portfolios and academic records.
- Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support where required.
1. Curriculum Planning
- Prepare annual, monthly, and weekly teaching plans.
- Ensure timely completion of syllabus and curriculum objectives.
- Participate in curriculum development and subject enrichment activities.
- Incorporate local culture, literature, and language development activities.
1. Student Development
- Encourage participation in linguistic, literary, and cultural activities.
- Support the overall personality development of students.
- Promote values such as honesty, respect, responsibility, and teamwork.
- Guide students in developing confidence and effective communication skills.
1. Parent Communication
- Attend Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
- Communicate student progress, strengths, and areas of improvement to parents.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents and guardians.
1. Co-curricular Activities
- Organize and participate in cultural programs, competitions, and events.
- Support school assemblies and language-related celebrations.
- Encourage students to participate in debates, storytelling, recitations, and literary activities.
1. Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain class records, assessment data, and student reports.
- Assist in examination duties and school activities.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programs, workshops, and school committees.
- Perform duties assigned by the Principal from time to time.

- Student learning outcomes in Gujarati.
- Syllabus completion as per academic calendar.
- Improvement in reading and writing proficiency.
- Student participation in language and cultural activities.
- Classroom discipline and student engagement.
- Timely completion of assessments and reports.

Educational QualificationEssential
- Bachelor's Degree in Gujarati / Gujarati Literature from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. from a recognized institution.
Preferred
- CTET/TET qualified (where applicable).
- Knowledge of modern teaching methodologies and NEP 2020 guidelines.
Experience
- 2-5 years of teaching experience in a reputed school preferred.
- Freshers with strong subject knowledge and teaching aptitude may also be considered.
