ob Profile — Proposal Engineer (Valves Industry) Position: Proposal Engineer – Valves Department: Sales / Proposal Engineering / Business Development Experience: Typically 2–6 years, depending on level Industry: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, Water, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, and General Industrial Valves Key ResponsibilitiesStudy RFQs, tenders, specifications, datasheets, P&IDs;, and customer requirements . Identify the appropriate valve type, such as: Ball valves Gate valves Globe valves Butterfly valves Check valves Plug valves Control valves Safety/relief valves Prepare technical and commercial quotations . Perform technical evaluation and ensure compliance with customer specifications.

Select suitable materials, pressure classes, sizes, end connections, trims, actuators, and accessories . Review applicable standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, ISO, MSS, NACE, and customer/project specifications . Prepare technical deviation lists, compliance statements, and exception sheets .

Coordinate with engineering,



production, quality, procurement, and sales teams for costing and technical clarification. Obtain quotations from suppliers for actuators, gearboxes, positioners, switches, special materials, and other valve accessories . Prepare cost estimates, price comparisons, and quotation summaries .

Analyze customer specifications and identify commercial and technical risks . Respond to customer technical queries and participate in pre-bid and clarification meetings . Support sales/business development teams during negotiations.

Prepare documents such as valve data sheets, GA drawings, technical offers, BOMs, and inspection/testing requirements , as applicable. Maintain proposal records and follow up on the status of submitted quotations. Coordinate with customers, consultants, EPC contractors, and end users when required.
