Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful completion of gas pipeline projects. The role will be responsible for managing the project from engineering and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, and handover, while ensuring compliance with approved scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, and applicable statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall execution of gas pipeline projects from project initiation to commissioning and handover.
- Develop and maintain detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, QA/QC, HSE, commercial, commissioning, and operations teams.
- Manage pipeline construction activities including:
- Route survey and right-of-way (ROW) activities
- Clearing and grading
- Trenching and excavation
- Pipe laying and stringing
- Welding and NDT
- Field joint coating
- Lowering and backfilling
- Hydrotesting
- Tie-ins and crossings
- Cathodic protection
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning
- Monitor project progress against approved cost, schedule, milestones, and deliverables.
- Identify project risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve technical and execution issues.
- Manage contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
- Review and approve project documentation, method statements, ITPs, inspection procedures, work programs, and construction plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable pipeline codes, standards, statutory regulations, permits, and client specifications.
- Ensure implementation of stringent HSE requirements, including permit-to-work systems, excavation safety, hot work, lifting operations, and emergency response.
- Coordinate with government authorities, landowners, local administration,
utility agencies, and other external stakeholders as required.
- Monitor material procurement, inspection, delivery, storage, and availability at site.
- Ensure quality control throughout construction, including welding, NDT, coating, testing, and documentation.
- Conduct regular project review meetings and prepare progress reports, dashboards, MIS, and management updates.
- Control project variations, claims, commercial issues, and change orders in coordination with the contracts/commercial team.
- Manage project documentation, as-built drawings, test records, dossiers, and final handover documentation.
- Lead project close-out and ensure successful handover to the client/operations team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Project Management certification such as PMP is desirable.
- Additional qualifications in pipeline engineering/construction will be an advantage.
Experience
- Typically 10–15+ years of relevant experience, including significant experience in gas/natural gas pipeline projects.
- Proven experience managing cross-country, city gas distribution, transmission, or associated pipeline infrastructure projects.
- Solid experience in pipeline construction, testing, commissioning, contractor management, and project controls.
- Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams and multiple contractors.
- Experience with EPC/EPIC project execution is preferred.
Technical Knowledge The candidate should have good working knowledge of:
- Gas pipeline construction and installation practices
- Pipeline welding and qualification requirements
- NDT and inspection requirements
- Pipeline coating and corrosion protection
- Hydrostatic testing and pre-commissioning
- Pipeline crossings, HDD, road/rail crossings, and river crossings
- Cathodic protection
- Valve stations, metering/regulating stations, and associated facilities
- Pipeline integrity and commissioning requirements
- Project planning and scheduling
- Cost control and resource management
- QA/QC and HSE management
- Applicable national and international pipeline standards and codes

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹480,000.00 per year
