Role & responsibilities The Project Engineer will be responsible for on-site execution of retail store fit-outs across both standalone and mall properties. This role demands robust technical understanding, site supervision capability, coordination with vendors, and an eye for quality and timelines. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in retail interior execution and be comfortable with frequent travel.
Key Responsibilities
Site Execution & Supervision
- Execute retail fit-out projects on-site as per approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
- Coordinate and supervise contractors, vendors, and site teams to ensure timely completion.
- Monitor progress, workmanship, safety, and adherence to project timelines.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with the Project Manager, Design, Procurement, and Operations teams for smooth execution.
- Coordinate with mall management and local authorities for permits, NOCs, and compliance as needed.
- Ensure material availability at site in coordination with central procurement and vendors.
Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Conduct regular quality checks for carpentry, civil, electrical, plumbing, branding, and MEP works.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory requirements, and mall guidelines.
- Report deviations and proactively suggest corrective measures.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain daily site reports, work progress documentation, measurement sheets, and checklists.
- Highlight delays, risks, and issues to the Project Manager with timely updates.
- Assist in project handover documentation and snag closure.
Requirements: Education
- Diploma or Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Interior Design.
Experience
- 6-7 years of experience in retail store fit-out execution.
- Mandatory experience in handling both standalone stores and mall projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of retail interiors, MEP coordination, and site execution practices.
- Ability to read drawings (civil/interiors/electrical) and work with contractors.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the region.
- Knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and site documentation processes preferred.
