Interview panel Ritesh Garg The role in one line
You are the operating spine of live M&A; mandates — you own the plan, the calendar, the data room, the checklist and the follow-up, so the deal team can focus on judgement calls instead of chasing status.
What you'll actually do
Deal execution management
- Own the end-to-end project plan for each live mandate: workstreams, owners, dependencies, milestones, critical path
- Maintain the master deal calendar — diligence windows, management presentations, bid deadlines, signing and closing dates
- Run the weekly deal cadence: agenda, status pack, decisions log, action tracker, and relentless follow-up until items close
Diligence and data room
- Set up and administer virtual data rooms — structure, permissions, watermarking, access audit trails
- Own the information request list: consolidate requests from legal, financial, tax and commercial workstreams, chase the target for responses, track completeness
- Maintain the Q&A; log between buy-side and sell-side, ensuring no question goes unanswered and no answer goes unrecorded
Stakeholder co-ordination
- Act as single point of co-ordination across internal teams, the client, and external advisors — lawyers, auditors, valuers, bankers, regulators
- Schedule and run management meetings, site visits and expert calls; circulate minutes with clear owners and dates
Documentation and close
- Maintain the closing checklist and condition-precedent tracker through to completion
- Support handover into post-merger integration — Day 1 readiness checklist, integration workstream setup, synergy tracker initiation
- Keep deal files audit-ready and compliant with confidentiality protocols throughout
First 90 days looks like success if A partner can ask "where are we on this mandate?" and get a complete, accurate answer from your tracker without anyone having to reconstruct it.
What we're looking for
Must have
- 2–5 years in project management, PMO, transaction support, deal advisory operations, or a co-ordination role in professional services, consulting or investment banking
- Demonstrated ability to run multiple parallel workstreams with hard deadlines and senior stakeholders
- Genuine command of project tooling — MS Project, Asana, Monday, Jira, Smartsheet or equivalent — plus advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Working understanding of the M&A; lifecycle: what a term sheet is, what diligence covers, what happens between signing and closing
- Exceptional follow-through. This role is judged on whether things that should have happened, happened
- Discretion with confidential and price-sensitive information
Positive to have
- Experience with VDR platforms such as Ansarada, Datasite, iDeals, Firmex or SecureDocs
- Exposure to post-merger integration or transformation programmes
- PMP, PRINCE2 or CAPM certification
- Cross-border deal exposure, particularly US, UK, Middle East or Southeast Asia
Who this role is not for
Someone who wants to model and value. This is a delivery and orchestration role. It is close to deals, but it is not an analyst seat — please apply to the transactions track instead if that is what you are after.
