Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day manufacturing, machining, fabrication and assembly operations on the shop floor.

The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining quality, safety, productivity, delivery schedules and 5S standards. The role requires solid knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, manpower handling and coordination with Quality, Stores, Purchase, Maintenance and Planning teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily production, machining, fabrication and mechanical assembly activities.
- Plan and allocate manpower according to production requirements and job priorities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per the daily/monthly production plan.
- Monitor shop-floor activities and ensure smooth workflow from raw material to finished product.
- Read and interpret mechanical, fabrication, GA and assembly drawings.
- Coordinate machine operators, fitters, welders, technicians and helpers.
- Monitor operations involving Lathe, VMC, HMC, Drilling, Boring, Surface Grinding, Welding, Cutting and other mechanical equipment.
- Supervise mechanical sub-assembly and final assembly activities.
- Ensure correct use of tools, fixtures, gauges and measuring instruments.
- Coordinate with Quality Control for in-process inspection, final inspection, rejection and rework.
- Identify production bottlenecks, machine breakdowns and process issues and take corrective action.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance and breakdown resolution.




- Coordinate with Stores/Purchase for timely availability of raw materials, components, tools and consumables.
- Monitor production output, rejection, rework, downtime and productivity.
- Prepare and maintain daily production reports, shift reports, job cards and production records.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions and approved manufacturing processes.
- Maintain proper 5S, housekeeping and safety standards on the shop floor.
- Ensure employees use appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures.
- Train, guide and monitor operators, fitters and technicians.
- Maintain discipline, attendance and effective manpower utilization.
- Support Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Reduce material wastage, rejection, rework and machine downtime.
- Support internal/external audits and ensure compliance with applicable quality and safety requirements.

Required Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of mechanical manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, BOMs, tolerances and assembly drawings.
- Knowledge of machining processes such as:
- Lathe / VMC / HMC / Drilling / Boring / Grinding / Cutting




- Basic knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.
- Knowledge of mechanical fitting, alignment, assembly and testing.
- Knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge and Dial Gauge.
- Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, TPM and Lean Manufacturing.
- Basic knowledge of ERP/MRP and MS Excel for production reporting.
- Knowledge of quality inspection and rejection/rework control.

Education Diploma / ITI / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

3–8 years of experience in mechanical manufacturing, industrial machinery, engineering products, machining, fabrication or assembly operations.

Candidates with hands-on experience in industrial machinery / pumps / valves / precision engineering / heavy engineering / capital equipment manufacturing will be preferred.

Pay: ₹450,000.00 - ₹550,000.00 per year
