Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to manage and oversee day-to-day VMC machining operations and ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining required standards of quality, productivity, and delivery.

The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in VMC operations, shop-floor supervision, manpower management, production planning, tooling, and process monitoring, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and manage daily VMC shop-floor production activities.
- Plan and allocate manpower, machines, tools, and resources based on production requirements.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure on-time completion of jobs.
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams for smooth production flow.
- Monitor VMC machine utilization, cycle times, productivity, and output.
- Ensure jobs are executed as per approved drawings, process sheets, work instructions, and production plans.
- Monitor tooling, fixtures, cutting tools, and consumables required for VMC operations.
- Coordinate with operators and setters to address machining-related issues and improve productivity.
- Identify production bottlenecks, machine downtime, and process-related issues and take timely corrective action.
- Work closely with the Quality team to minimize rejection, rework, and dimensional deviations.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of components throughout the production process.
- Monitor machine loading and prioritize jobs based on production requirements.




- Ensure proper handling and upkeep of VMC machines, tools, fixtures, and shop-floor equipment.
- Supervise, guide, and train VMC operators and production personnel.
- Maintain discipline and ensure adherence to 5S, safety, and housekeeping standards.
- Prepare and communicate daily production status, output, rejection, and pending-job reports.
- Drive improvements in productivity, machine utilization, cycle time, and on-time delivery.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong hands-on experience in VMC machining and shop-floor production supervision.
- Positive understanding of VMC operations, tooling, fixtures, cutting parameters, and machining processes.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, GD&T;, and process documentation.
- Experience in production planning, machine loading, and manpower allocation.
- Ability to monitor and improve cycle time, productivity, and machine utilization.
- Positive understanding of machining-related quality issues and their prevention.
- Strong team-handling and shop-floor management skills.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Planning teams.
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices will be an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

- Diploma / B.E. – Mechanical / Production Engineering or related discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in production supervision.
- Strong experience in VMC-based precision machining is preferred.
- Experience in Aerospace / Defence / precision manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Candidates with experience handling VMC operators, setters, production planning, and shop-floor targets will be preferred.
