Role Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a Principal Azure Network Engineer to architect, implement, and operationalize a secure, scalable, and highly available Azure cloud networking foundation. The role will be responsible for designing enterprise-grade Azure network architectures, driving network security through firewall technologies, and establishing connectivity patterns that support cloud-native platforms, data workloads, and future growth. This position works closely with Engineering, Cybersecurity, Platform Engineering, and Architecture teams to ensure a secure and resilient Azure environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement Azure Landing Zone network architecture, including hub-spoke or Virtual WAN topologies.
- Define network segmentation strategies, subnet structures, IP addressing schemes, routing models, and connectivity standards.
- Establish Azure networking patterns aligned with Management Groups, Subscriptions, and Virtual Networks.
- Implement, configure, and manage Azure Firewall and related network security controls.
- Develop secure connectivity standards for internal applications and external services.
- Design and support hybrid network connectivity solutions and ensure highly available network architectures.
- Architect secure networking solutions for Azure platform services and enterprise applications.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Platform Engineering teams to design, build, and operate enterprise Azure platforms.




- Support network integration requirements with cloud and vendor-hosted platforms used for data and AI workloads.
- Provide network design reviews and guidance as part of architecture governance processes.
- Define and enforce networking standards, policies, naming conventions, tagging standards, and operational procedures.
- Monitor network health, connectivity, performance, and security posture across Azure environments.
- Create operational runbooks and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and enable L1/L2 support teams with troubleshooting guidance.
- Drive network automation and infrastructure deployment through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
- Deliver assigned sprint objectives with high quality and within agreed timelines.

Experience

- 10+ years of enterprise networking experience.
- 4+ years of experience designing and supporting Azure cloud networking solutions.
