As we continue to scale our platforms and expand our AI capabilities, we are looking for a Principal Architect – Java to drive architecture and technical direction across our products.

About the RoleAs a Principal Architect, you will own the end-to-end architecture of systems across CPaaS, Voice AI, and D2C platforms. You will define service boundaries, data flows, integration patterns, APIs, and non-functional standards while working closely with engineering leadership and senior technical teams.

This is a hands-on architecture role. You will contribute to critical prototypes and reference implementations while providing technical direction for systems operating at significant scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end architecture across CPaaS, Voice AI, and D2C platforms, including service decomposition, API contracts, data models, and integration patterns.
- Design highly scalable distributed systems supporting high concurrency, real-time processing, and low-latency workloads.
- Architect GenAI capabilities including LLM orchestration, RAG pipelines, vector databases, model routing, and inference cost optimization.
- Design fraud, abuse, and anomaly detection systems using behavioural and graph-based approaches.
- Own payments and monetization architecture across multiple countries, gateways, currencies, reconciliation, idempotency, and audit requirements.
- Lead telco and enterprise integrations, including protocol adapters, partner integrations, and contract-first APIs.
- Create and maintain HLDs, LLDs, sequence diagrams, ADRs, and other architecture documentation.
- Define and enforce non-functional requirements including latency, throughput, availability, SLOs, RTO/RPO, and data retention.
- Lead architecture and design reviews across engineering teams.




- Drive modernization initiatives including monolith decomposition, Java upgrades, and legacy system migration.
- Establish engineering standards across coding, API design, architecture, and development practices.
- Mentor senior engineers and technical leads through design reviews, technical discussions, and hands-on collaboration.
- Develop reference implementations and prototypes for complex technical challenges.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- 10+ years of experience building backend systems using Java.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data/JPA.
- Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, Saga, API Gateway, and BFF patterns.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, including idempotency, retries, circuit breakers, rate limiting, back-pressure, and consistency models.
- Extensive experience with AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, VPC, and IAM.
- Strong production experience with Kafka, including partitioning, consumer groups, ordering, and replay.
- Experience with Redis for caching, distributed locks, counters, and rate limiting.
- Robust SQL and database design skills with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB or MongoDB.
- Experience designing real-time systems, session management, event processing, and WebSocket-based applications.
- Strong understanding of JVM performance, garbage collection, thread analysis, profiling, load testing, and capacity planning.
- Experience leading engineering teams of 5–10+ engineers.
- Proven experience conducting architecture and design reviews and mentoring senior engineers and technical leads.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Good to Have

- Production experience with GenAI, LLM integrations, RAG, agent frameworks, and vector databases such as pgvector,



Pinecone, or Weaviate.
- Experience with voice and telephony technologies such as SIP, RTP, WebRTC, FreeSWITCH, or Asterisk.
- Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j for fraud, relationship, or anomaly detection.
- Experience with multi-country payment systems, FX, settlement, chargebacks, and market-specific requirements.
- Experience designing multi-tenant SaaS platforms, data isolation, data residency, and active-active architectures.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing.
- Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
