Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Press Tool Die Designer based at Ameya Industries in Chakan.

The Press Tool Die

Designer will be responsible for designing press tools and dies for sheet metal components, translating product and engineering requirements into robust tooling solutions. Day-to-day tasks include developing detailed CAD designs, creating and updating drawings, selecting materials and components, and collaborating with production, machining,



and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and adherence to specifications. The role involves performing design calculations, tolerance analysis, and design reviews, as well as supporting trials, debugging, and continuous improvement of existing tools. The designer will also work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to optimize tool performance, reduce downtime, and maintain documentation and standards.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess solid skills in Tooling Design and Design Engineering for press tools and dies.
- Candidates should possess skills in Mold Design and Mold engineering, with exposure to precision tooling environments.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Injection Molding principles and related tooling concepts.
- Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, or similar) for 2D and 3D design and detailing.
- Understanding of sheet metal processes, stamping, forming, and machining, including GD&T; and tolerance analysis.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool & Die Making, or a related discipline.
- Experience in an automotive or precision manufacturing environment, preferably with press tool design exposure.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
