Planview (Portfolios, ProjectPlace, AgilePlace) Specialist / Technical Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Planview expert to own and enhance our Planview ecosystem across Portfolios, ProjectPlace, and AgilePlace. The role includes platform configuration, API-based integrations, reporting via Power BI, and data operations using Automart/Replica DB. Youll work closely with PMO, Engineering, and Business stakeholders to drive portfolio visibility, project execution, agile delivery, and data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Planview Portfolios (PPM)

- Configure and administer Portfolios: lifecycles, stages, gates, portfolios, programs, projects, demand intake, resource pools, timesheets, and financials.
- Set up governance workflows, request forms, custom attributes, security roles, and user provisioning.
- Develop dashboards, roadmaps, and portfolio analytics for executive reporting.
- Manage integrations with HR systems, finance, and work management tools (via API/web services).
- Exposure to IT PMO governance, CAPEX/OPEX budgeting, and financial reconciliations.
- Ensure data quality (metadata, hierarchies, calendars, fiscal periods).

Planview ProjectPlace
- Administer ProjectPlace workspaces, boards, timelines, documents, permissions, templates.
- Enable collaboration workflows across teams; enforce naming conventions and governance.
- Automate workspace provisioning and synchronization with Portfolios where applicable.

Planview AgilePlace (LeanKit)
- Configure Kanban boards, card types, lanes, WIP limits, policies,



metrics (lead/cycle time).
- Support lean/agile delivery across teams; align boards to portfolio epics and value streams.
- Implement portfolio-to-team rollups and cross-team dependency visualizations.

APIs & Integrations
- Hands-on with Planview REST/SOAP APIs for Portfolios, ProjectPlace, and AgilePlace:
- Build, test, and maintain integration scripts/services for data sync (projects, resources, timesheets, financials, agile cards).
- Implement authentication, rate limiting, error handling, retry logic, and audit logging.
- Create integration mappings, data contracts, and documentation; version and deploy via CI/CD.
- Work with webhooks, scheduled jobs, and event-driven flows.

Reporting & Data (Power BI, Automart, Replica DB)
- Design and publish Power BI reports and dashboards against Automart and Replica DB:
- Data modeling, DAX measures, row-level security, refresh schedules, governance.
- Build standardized PMO packs: Portfolio Health, Delivery KPIs, Resource Utilization, Financials, Status & Risks, Agile Flow Metrics.
- Monitor data freshness, performance, lineage; implement SLAs and reconciliations.
- Collaborate with DB admins to optimize queries and maintain schema awareness.

Governance, Security, and Support
- Establish standards, templates, and best practices for Planview usage.
- Ensure compliance with access controls, audit, data retention, and organizational policies.
- Provide L2/L3 support, issue triage, release notes, and training for users and stakeholders.
