Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly accurate and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to drive end-to-end Indian payroll operations using SAP HR. In this role, you will take full ownership of the payroll lifecycle—from master data management and monthly disbursements to rigorous statutory compliance (PF, ESI, TDS) and tax administration. You will serve as the crucial link between HR and Finance, ensuring seamless accounting integration, precise General Ledger reconciliations, and strict adherence to Indian labor laws.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1) End-to-End Indian Payroll Execution (SAP)

- Maintain and update employee data in the SAP HR module, including master data and payroll inputs.
- Manage pre-payroll activities, including master data validation, attendance and absence verification through SAP, and updates for new hires, transfers, and separations.
- Run the regular monthly payroll and process off-cycle payments accurately and on schedule.
- Manage the Payroll Control Record across various locations and payroll areas.
- Coordinate with Finance and auditors on payroll, tax, and compliance-related matters.
- Manage SAP infotypes and ensure payroll-related employee records are accurate and up to date.
- Generate payroll result tables, wage-type reports, and tax reporting statements as required.

2)

Statutory Compliance & Tax Administration:

- Ensure full compliance with Indian labour laws and tax regulations, including providing guidance on the Old and Recent Tax Regimes under the Income Tax Act, 1961.
- Generate statutory reports and coordinate timely monthly remittances for all applicable payroll compliance requirements.
- PF, ESI, and Professional Tax: Prepare, validate, and support monthly filings and remittances.
- Tax Deducted at Source (TDS): Execute year-end tax processing, including investment proof validation, tax recalculations, and employee tax reporting support.

3) Accounting Integration & Reporting:

- Process payroll posting runs to Financial Accounting and resolve General Ledger or symbolic account posting errors.
- Reconcile payroll output with General Ledger accounts and bank payout files to ensure accuracy before disbursement.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in end-to-end SAP payroll, preferably within the Indian payroll process.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, commitment to data confidentiality, and effective stakeholder communication skills.
