About the Role A Packaging Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing packaging solutions that ensure tractors, assemblies, and spare parts are safely transported to international customers while meeting quality, regulatory, and cost requirements. The role focuses on product protection, export compliance, logistics optimization, and continuous improvement of packaging systems.

Responsibilities

Packaging Design and Development

- Design suitable packaging for tractors, CKD/SKD kits, and spare parts.




- Select appropriate packaging materials such as wooden crates, steel frames, corrugated boxes, VCI films, and protective wraps.
- Develop packaging solutions that ensure product safety during handling, storage, and transportation.

Product Protection

- Protect products from damage caused by vibration, impact, moisture, dust, and corrosion during export transit.
- Implement preservation methods for long-distance sea and land transportation.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential packaging failures.

Export Compliance

- Ensure packaging meets international shipping and customer requirements.
- Comply with ISPM-15 standards for wooden packaging materials.
- Adhere to destination country regulations and export documentation requirements.

Container Utilization and Logistics Support

- Design packaging configurations that improve loading efficiency and transportation safety.
- Support container stuffing and securing activities to prevent transit damage.

Quality Assurance and Validation

- Analyse packaging-related failures and customer complaints.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve packaging performance.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Logistics, Procurement, Warehouse, and Export Sales teams.
- Work with suppliers to develop and improve packaging materials and solutions.
- Support customer-specific packaging requirements and audits.

Documentation and Standardization

- Prepare packaging specifications, drawings, work instructions.
- Maintain packaging standards and records.
- Ensure accurate packing lists and shipment documentation.

Candidate Preference:

- Candidates from the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) will be preferred.
- Freshers, candidates with internship experience, and candidates with up to 6 months of relevant experience may be considered.
