The company supplies high-quality engineering and electrical products to leading OEM customers through advanced manufacturing facilities with a strong focus on quality, operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.

The Manager -Outsourcing (Vendor Development & Subcontracting) will be responsible for developing and managing the organization's outsourcing and subcontracting operations by establishing a high-performing vendor network capable of meeting Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD), and Capacity requirements. The role will lead a cross-functional outsourcing team comprising Quality, Production, and Planning professionals to ensure seamless execution of outsourced manufacturing operations. The incumbent will drive vendor development, supplier performance improvement, capacity expansion, cost optimization, and strategic outsourcing initiatives aligned with business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1) Outsourcing & Subcontracting Management

- Develop and implement outsourcing strategies to support business growth and manufacturing capacity requirements.
- Identify manufacturing processes suitable for subcontracting while maintaining quality and cost competitiveness.
- Establish and manage a reliable subcontractor and vendor network for various manufacturing processes.
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of outsourced components as per production schedules.
- Monitor subcontracting performance against Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Service (QCDS) parameters.

2) Vendor Development & Qualification

- Identify, evaluate, develop, and onboard new manufacturing vendors and subcontractors.
- Conduct technical capability assessments, capacity evaluations, and commercial feasibility studies.
- Lead vendor audits and qualification activities before business allocation.
- Develop alternate sources to reduce business risks and improve supply continuity.
- Drive supplier capability enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives.

3) Cross-Functional Team Leadership

- Lead and manage a dedicated outsourcing team comprising Production, Quality, and Planning functions.
- Define KPIs and performance objectives for team members.




- Ensure effective coordination between internal departments and external manufacturing partners.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and develop team capabilities.
- Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

4) Production & Capacity Management

- Plan and allocate production volumes to subcontractors based on capacity, capability, and business priorities.
- Monitor vendor production schedules and ensure adherence to customer delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with Production Planning to balance internal manufacturing and outsourced operations.
- Ensure optimum utilization of vendor manufacturing capacities.
- Support recent product industrialization through qualified outsourcing partners.

5) Supplier Quality Management

- Work closely with the Quality team to establish robust supplier quality systems.
- Monitor supplier quality performance through PPM, rejection trends, customer complaints, and audit findings.
- Drive supplier corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality improvements.
- Conduct supplier process audits and ensure compliance with customer and company quality standards.
- Improve First Pass Yield (FPY) and reduce supplier-related quality issues.

6) Planning & Delivery Management

- Coordinate with Planning teams to ensure timely release of subcontracting schedules.
- Monitor vendor delivery performance and On-Time Delivery (OTD).
- Track work-in-progress (WIP) at vendor locations.
- Ensure timely availability of outsourced components to support production requirements.
- Resolve delivery bottlenecks through proactive planning and vendor coordination.

7) Cost Optimization & Commercial Management

- Drive cost reduction initiatives through supplier development, process improvements, and value engineering.
- Participate in commercial negotiations with vendors for pricing, payment terms, and long-term agreements.
- Monitor subcontracting costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Support annual cost reduction targets and sourcing strategies.
- Benchmark supplier costs against market trends.

8) New Product Development (NPD) Support

- Collaborate with R&D;, Production, and SCM teams during new product development.
- Identify suitable vendors for new product manufacturing requirements.
- Support prototype development, pilot production, PPAP,



and production readiness.
- Ensure vendor capability aligns with new product specifications and quality requirements.
- Coordinate engineering changes with subcontractors.

9) MIS & Performance Reporting

- Prepare vendor performance dashboards and outsourcing MIS reports.
- Monitor KPIs including Supplier OTD, PPM, Capacity Utilization, Lead Time, Inventory, Cost Savings, and Vendor Ratings.
- Present periodic outsourcing performance reviews to senior management.
- Maintain subcontracting records, agreements, and vendor databases.
- Drive data-driven decision-making through performance analytics.

10) Compliance & Governance

- Ensure all outsourcing activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
- Standardize subcontracting processes, documentation, and approval workflows.
- Ensure confidentiality of technical drawings, customer specifications, and commercial information.
- Support customer audits, supplier audits, and compliance assessments.
- Promote ethical sourcing and sustainable supplier development practices.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- MBA in Operations, Supply Chain Management, or Materials Management will be an added advantage.

Experience Required

- 10-15 years of experience in Vendor Development, Outsourcing, Subcontracting, Supplier Quality, Production, or Supply Chain Management.
- Strong experience in managing subcontract manufacturing operations in Electrical, Switchgear, Engineering, Sheet Metal, Injection Moulding, Fabrication, or Electro-Mechanical manufacturing industries.
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams comprising Production, Quality, and Planning.
- Hands-on experience in supplier development, vendor audits, capacity planning, quality improvement, and cost optimization.
- Experience with ERP/SAP systems and supplier performance management.
