Ideal candidate for this role is an experienced Oracle SOA / Oracle Service Bus (OSB) Integration Engineer with at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle SOA Suite. The candidate should have strong expertise in analyzing and reverse-engineering legacy OSB 11g/12c configurations, understanding complex service dependencies and message flows, and modernizing XML-based integrations into RESTful JSON APIs. The role requires robust analytical and integration skills, particularly around legacy-to-modern API orchestration, impact analysis, and transitional integration patterns.
Responsibilities:
- Reverse-engineer legacy Oracle OSB 11g/12c configurations and map service dependencies.
- Analyze Proxy Services, Business Services, XQuery/XSLT transformations, Route Nodes, and transport headers to trace inbound and outbound HTTP GET/POST endpoints.
- Analyze and document integration flows connecting OSB, PRISM, and OpenText LiveLink.
- Modernize XML-based messaging into RESTful JSON APIs using Oracle OSB.
- Work with OSB Native Format Builder (nXSD) for XML-to-JSON translation and payload transformation.
- Configure and work with REST adapters/bindings, WADL/OpenAPI definitions, HTTP status codes, headers, and payloads.
- Reverse-engineer legacy workflow integrations, including workflow initialization, forms, categories/attributes, and document attachments.
- Analyze MIME types, multipart payloads, and document/node IDs within existing integrations.
- Develop integration approaches to bridge legacy mechanisms such as LiveLink LAPI and raw HTTP/XML commands with modern OpenText Content Server REST APIs.
- Design multi-step API orchestration involving authentication/ticket generation, document node creation, attribute binding, and workflow initiation.
- Perform integration feasibility and impact analysis for legacy modernization initiatives.
- Assess backward compatibility of existing APIs and payloads consumed by Employer and Member portals.
- Design transitional facade and adapter patterns to support migration from legacy services to modern APIs.
- Identify and isolate error-handling, transaction-boundary, and dependency considerations across OSB, PRISM, and LiveLink.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to assess modernization effort, risks, dependencies, and implementation approaches.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle SOA Suite.
- Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Service Bus (OSB), preferably OSB 11g/12c.
- Proven experience analyzing and reverse-engineering existing OSB configurations and integration flows.
- Strong knowledge of:
- OSB Proxy Services and Business Services
- XQuery and XSLT transformations
- Route Nodes and message flows
- HTTP GET/POST integrations
- Hands-on experience with XML-to-JSON transformation and REST API modernization.
- Experience with OSB Native Format Builder (nXSD).
- Experience with REST adapters/bindings and WADL/OpenAPI definitions.
- Strong understanding of HTTP status codes, headers, request/response payloads, and REST integration patterns.
- Experience working with legacy-to-modern API orchestration and integration patterns.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex legacy integrations and identify dependencies and risks.
- Experience assessing backward compatibility, transaction boundaries, error handling, and integration impacts.
- Ability to design and evaluate facade/adapter patterns for legacy modernization.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
