Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Kozhikode. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, binocular vision assessment, and screening for ocular diseases, using AI-enabled imaging systems and other diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities include documenting clinical findings accurately, counseling patients on eye health, vision correction options, and preventive care, and coordinating referrals to ophthalmologists or other specialists when needed. The role involves working closely with clinical and technical teams to ensure smooth screening workflows, supporting health education initiatives, and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety.



The Optometrist is expected to contribute to continuous improvement of screening protocols and participate in training related to new technologies and clinical guidelines.

Qualifications

- Valid Optometry qualification (Bachelor’s or Diploma in Optometry) from a recognized institution and eligibility to practice as an Optometrist.
- Strong clinical skills in refraction, contact lens fitting, basic binocular vision assessment, and preliminary screening for ocular conditions.
- Comfort with using diagnostic devices, electronic medical records, and technology-enabled screening tools; willingness to learn AI-based imaging systems.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills for explaining findings, educating patients, and collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail, accurate documentation habits, and adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and ethical practice guidelines.
- Ability to work full-time in an on-site clinical environment in Kozhikode, including managing patient flow and prioritizing tasks in a quick-paced setting.
- Prior experience in eye care centers, hospitals, or screening programs is an advantage; exposure to preventive healthcare or telehealth services is beneficial.
- Proficiency in relevant local languages and English, with a customer-focused approach and commitment to continuous professional development.
