Role Description The Optical In-Charge will oversee the daily operations of the optical outlet at ASG Eye Hospital’s Worli location in a full-time, in office capacity.

Responsibilities include managing optical inventory, ensuring accurate lens and frame dispensing, supervising sales and customer service, and maintaining high standards of visual merchandising and clinic-appropriate presentation. The role involves coordinating with ophthalmologists on prescriptions, advising patients on lens types and frames, and ensuring timely,



precise order processing with optical laboratories.

The Optical

In-Charge will also train and guide optical staff, monitor performance, implement standard operating procedures, and support revenue growth while providing a patient-centric experience.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of optics and dispensing, including understanding of prescriptions, lens types, coatings, and frame fitting.
- Skills in retail operations and customer service, with the ability to manage sales, handle patient queries, and resolve issues professionally.
- Experience in inventory management and coordination with vendors or laboratories to ensure timely delivery and quality control.
- Team leadership and supervisory skills to train, guide, and evaluate optical staff while maintaining service standards.
- Basic computer proficiency for billing, order tracking, and record-keeping in hospital or retail management systems.
- Diploma or certification in Optometry, Ophthalmic Dispensing, or a related field; a degree in Optometry is an added advantage.
- Previous experience in an optical store or eye hospital setting is preferred, especially in a supervisory or in-charge role.
- Ability to work in a structured healthcare environment, follow clinical protocols, and communicate clearly with medical teams and patients.
