About the Role The Unit Operations Manager will own catering performance for assigned workplace food service units in Noida. The same core JD applies across Assistant Manager, Unit Manager, and Senior Unit Manager levels, with scope based on unit size, team strength, and client complexity. Success means consistent food quality, safe and timely service, disciplined cost control, compliant operations, and satisfied customers and clients.
The role combines daily operating control, team leadership, financial management, planning, and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate is a decisive, results-focused catering professional who uses clear routines, data, and accountability to improve unit performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own daily catering operations through service plans, quality controls, and shift reviews that deliver safe, timely, and consistent customer experiences.
- Lead unit teams through workforce planning, coaching, clear targets, and performance follow-up that improve productivity and accountability.
- Manage budgets, food costs, labor deployment, wastage, and variances to protect margins while maintaining quality and satisfaction.
- Maintain strong client and customer relationships through regular communication, transparent reporting, and effective issue resolution.
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, quality, and company standards through audits, checklists, and corrective action tracking.
- Coordinate menus, supplies, equipment, capacity, and contingencies to keep operations ready for changing volumes and client needs.
- Use MS Office and operational data to monitor trends and drive improvements in cost, service, satisfaction, and team performance.
Essential Skills & Technologies
- Seven or more years of food industry or contract catering experience, with ownership of teams, service standards, and client-facing operations.
- Strong financial understanding covering budgets, food cost, labor planning, wastage, variance analysis, and profitability improvement.
- Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills, especially when managing service disruptions, customer concerns, and operational risks.
- Excellent communication skills with customers, clients, colleagues, vendors, and team members.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, for reporting, analysis, and performance reviews.
- Practical knowledge of catering operations, food safety, hygiene, inventory, procurement coordination, and compliance.
Additional Plus
- Experience managing workplace cafeterias, institutional catering contracts, or multiple food service units.
- Training or certification in food safety, hospitality operations, quality management, or workplace catering.
- Exposure to digital operations, inventory, workforce, ERP, dashboard, or customer feedback systems.
