Role Description The Odia Content Writer will be responsible for creating clear, engaging, and accurate news and feature content in Odia for the Odisha.News website and mobile app. Day-to-day tasks include researching topics and current events, drafting and editing articles, writing headlines and summaries, and ensuring all content meets editorial and language quality standards.

The role involves collaborating closely with editors and the digital team to align content with the platform’s news strategy, publishing timelines, and audience needs. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhubaneshwar,



requiring a strong presence in the newsroom and active participation in editorial discussions.

Qualifications

- Strong Web Content Writing and Writing skills, with the ability to produce explicit and engaging news content in Odia.
- Ability to develop and support Content Strategy, including planning topics and formats aligned with audience interests.
- Solid Research skills for verifying facts, sourcing information, and staying updated on current affairs.
- Proficiency in Proofreading, with attention to detail for grammar, spelling, and style consistency in Odia.
- Excellent command of written Odia and good understanding of English for source materials and coordination.
- Basic familiarity with digital publishing tools, CMS platforms, and SEO best practices for news content.
- Ability to work on-site in Bhubaneshwar, manage deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced newsroom.
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Literature, or a related field is preferred; relevant experience in digital or print media is an advantage.
