Specialist - Legal Entity Controllership (LEC) - IN The role is responsible for month-end close accounting, billing and reporting.
Daily general ledger control checks, reference data maintenance, revenue billing, management information reporting & analysis, inter-entity reconciliation, GL balance substantiation & reconciliation. The associate will be part of corporate accounting, billing team.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Corporate accounting month-end close: The associate will execute month-end and quarter-end book close activities in line with internal guidelines and SOX controls. Responsibilities include preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany transactions and settlements, variance analyses, and account substantiations. Reconcile intercompany and equity accounts and fix the breaks. Perform M-o-M variance analysis and document reasons for the variances.
- Legal entity preparation and analysis of quarterly financials, prepare quarterly packages and supporting reports required. They will also prepare audit responses and maintain updated procedure and documentation.
- Close and consolidation process - Preparation of notes to accounts and shareholder's equity statements - Intercompany eliminations and investment-equity reconciliations, and resolve its discrepancies - Coordinate with external auditors, corporate accounting, tax teams, and system administrators.
- General Responsibilities: The associate will support ad hoc analyses, process troubleshooting, and closely coordinate and work with financial reporting team, treasury team, reconciliation team, fund admin team and FP&A; team.
- The associate will be responsible for implementation of process improvements to enhance operational effectiveness, reduce risk, and apply critical thinking in evaluating processes, risks, and controls.
- Manage end-to-end billing operations for institutional investment advisory clients, ensure accurate revenue accounting, and support timely receivables management and regulatory reporting. Calculate and post the revenue accruals in the General Ledger. Investigate unreconciled billing data across multiple systems and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure billing accuracy and timely resolution of exceptions.
- Process billing for institutional clients' investment advisory services and perform fee calculations with client agreements and contractual terms. Analyzing agreements to identify the applicable fee basisbilling frequency and timing.
- The associate will regularly interact with Finance teams across India GBS and outside India locations, as well as external auditors. Solid communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills are critical to success in this role.
- Proficiency in financial systems such as Workiva, FCCS, Coda is preferred, as well as advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Educational Requirements:
- MBA/masters in finance. CA preferred
Work Experience:
- 5 Years Required; 8+ Years Preferred
Skills:
- Coda accounting system, FCCS consolidation tool, Tableau, Alteryx, Oracle SmartView, EDM, Workiva and ORMB/Advantage billing tool knowledge preferable
- IFRS knowledge and experience preferred
- AI tools usage
- Proficient in excel
