Responsibilities

- Work on feature development and bug fixing.

- Unit and integration testing.

- Optimization of the application for maximum speed and scalability.

- Clearly articulate the pros and cons of various technologies/platforms and perform detailed analysis of business problems and technical environments to derive a solution.

- Work with customer teams closely and deliver on time and make sure new features and bugs of customers get prioritized in the sprint.

- Work in research and understanding of new tools and areas.

Security Responsibilities

- Write secure, production-ready Python code, following best practices for input validation, authentication, encryption, and error handling.

- Ensure secure storage and handling of credentials, tokens, and secrets. Avoid hardcoding or committing sensitive data to version control.

- Follow secure API design principles when building or consuming RESTful services, including rate limiting, proper HTTP status usage, and auth flows.

- Conduct dependency and package audits using tools like pip-audit, safety, or bandit to prevent vulnerabilities from creeping in through third-party libraries.

- Participate in code reviews with a security lens. Raising concerns about insecure patterns, improper access control, or overlooked edge cases.

- Maintain good hygiene in experimentation and R& D codebases, including cleanup of temp access, environment variables, and sandbox credentials.

- Support incident triage by writing logs and exception handling that aid debugging without leaking sensitive information.

- Stay updated on secure software development practices and apply findings from R& D work responsibly (especially if exploring AI/ML, data pipelines,



or integrations).

Bonus Points For The core requirements for the job include the following:

- Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), by (ISC).

- Secure Coding Certificate - Python (from OpenEDG or GIAC).

Technical Skills

- Have intermediate/advanced knowledge of Python.

- Hands-on experience with OOP in Python. Flask/Django framework, ORM with MySQL, and MongoDB are a plus.

- Must have experience writing shell scripts and configuration files. Should be proficient in Bash.

- Should have excellent Linux administration capabilities.

- Working experience of SCM. Git is preferred.

- Should have knowledge of the basics of networking in Linux and computer networks in general.

- Experience in engineering practices such as code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, and continuous integration.

- Understanding of the architecture of OpenStack/Kubernetes and valuable knowledge of standard client interfaces is a plus.

- Code contributed to the OpenStack/Kubernetes community will be a plus.

- Understanding of the NFV and SDN domains will be a plus.
