Role Description This is a full time, on-site Mold Designer role based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The Mold

Designer will be responsible for designing plastic packaging injection molds, including multi-cavity molds for caps and closures, using CAD tools and design engineering principles. Daily tasks include developing tooling concepts, creating detailed mold designs and 3D/2D drawings, and collaborating with production and machining teams to ensure manufacturability and performance. The role involves reviewing customer specifications, optimizing mold layouts for cycle time and quality, and supporting trials, adjustments,



and design improvements.

The Mold

Designer will also participate in troubleshooting mold-related issues, maintaining design documentation, and contributing to continuous improvement in tooling standards and processes.

Qualifications

- Strong capabilities in Mold Design and Injection Molding, with experience in plastic packaging caps and closures.
- Proficiency in Tooling Design and Design Engineering for high-precision multi-cavity injection molds.
- Hands-on experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or similar) for 3D modeling and 2D detailing.
- Understanding of mold manufacturing processes, materials, tolerances, cooling, gating, and ejection systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications, and translate them into practical mold designs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on quality and reliability.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams on-site.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Engineering, or a related discipline; prior experience in injection mold design is highly preferred.
