We’re Hiring: Metallurgical / Chemical / Materials Engineer – Flux Chemical Formulation

HMP is looking for a technically strong Metallurgical Engineer, Chemical Engineer, or Materials Engineer to work on the development and formulation of welding flux chemicals and welding consumables.

The selected candidate will be involved in raw material selection, formulation development, testing, process improvement, and quality control of flux-based welding products.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimize flux chemical formulations for welding consumables.
- Work on formulations for welding electrodes, flux-cored wires, and related welding products.
- Select and evaluate minerals, ferro-alloys, binders, silicates, carbonates, fluorides, oxides, and other flux ingredients.
- Study the effect of different chemicals on arc stability, slag formation, penetration, weld appearance, mechanical properties, and deposition characteristics.
- Conduct laboratory trials and production-level formulation testing.
- Analyze chemical composition and metallurgical properties of weld deposits.
- Troubleshoot problems such as porosity, excessive spatter, poor slag removal, cracking, unstable arc, and inconsistent weld quality.
- Work closely with production and quality teams for process standardization and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain formulation records,



test reports, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support the development of current grades of welding electrodes and other welding consumables.
- Assist in identifying suitable raw material suppliers and evaluating alternative materials.

Educational QualificationB.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc. in any of the following:

- Metallurgical Engineering
- Materials Engineering / Materials Science
- Chemical Engineering
- Applied Chemistry / Industrial Chemistry
- Ceramic Engineering or related field

Preferred ExperienceCandidates with experience in any of the following will be preferred:
- Welding electrode manufacturing
- Welding consumables
- Flux formulation
- Flux-cored wire manufacturing
- Metallurgical laboratories
- Ferro-alloys and industrial minerals
- Welding metallurgy
- Chemical formulation and R&D;

Freshers with strong knowledge of metallurgy, materials science, chemistry, and welding technology may also apply.
