Job Summary
We are looking for a technically competent and experienced MEP Engineer to manage and supervise the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems of the campus. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and coordination of MEP works for existing and ongoing infrastructure projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Systems:
- Supervise operation and maintenance of HVAC, air-conditioning, ventilation, pumps, motors, and other mechanical systems.
- Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Identify faults and coordinate timely repairs and replacements.
- Ensure proper functioning of mechanical services across the campus.
Electrical Systems:
- Supervise electrical installations, panels, transformers, DG sets, UPS systems, lighting, and power distribution.
- Conduct regular inspection of electrical systems and identify potential safety hazards.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and breakdown rectification.
- Monitor electricity consumption and support energy-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards.
Plumbing & Utility Systems:
- Monitor water supply, plumbing, drainage, sewage, pumps, water tanks, and related systems.
- Coordinate repair and maintenance of plumbing infrastructure.
- Ensure uninterrupted water supply and proper drainage across the campus.
- Monitor water consumption and identify leakage or wastage.
General MEP & Facility Responsibilities:
- Prepare and implement preventive maintenance schedules for MEP equipment.
- Supervise technicians, electricians, plumbers, HVAC operators, and other maintenance staff.
- Coordinate with contractors and external agencies for MEP installation, maintenance, and repair works.
- Inspect the quality of MEP installations and ensure work is completed as per approved specifications.
- Review MEP drawings, layouts, BOQs, and technical specifications where required.
- Coordinate MEP activities with civil and construction works.
- Monitor ongoing construction and renovation projects from an MEP perspective.
- Maintain records of equipment, maintenance activities, breakdowns, inspections, and service reports.
- Maintain inventory of MEP spare parts, tools, and consumables.
- Assist in budgeting and procurement of MEP equipment and materials.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, electrical safety, environmental, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and ensure minimum disruption to campus operations.
- Prepare regular MEP maintenance and performance reports for management.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management.
Required Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Specialization or certification in MEP / Building Services / Facility Management will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in MEP, facility management, commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, educational institutions, or large infrastructure projects.
- Candidates with strong hands-on knowledge of MEP systems will be preferred.
Required Skills:
- Solid technical knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC, DG sets, transformers, electrical panels, pumps, water supply, drainage, and building utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and layouts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Contractor and vendor management skills.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to supervise technical and maintenance teams.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely resolution of MEP breakdowns and complaints.
- Effective implementation of preventive maintenance schedules.
- Minimum equipment downtime.
- Efficient utilization of electricity, water, and other utilities.
- Quality and timely completion of MEP projects and maintenance works.
- Compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
- Proper maintenance records and inventory management.
