1. Job Purpose

The MEP Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and executing Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) works at project sites, ensuring that all installations are completed as per approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, project timelines, and client requirements.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Project Execution

- Plan and supervise day-to-day MEP activities at the project site.
- Ensure execution of MEP works as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and method statements.
- Coordinate with civil, interior, architectural, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and ELV teams.
- Monitor work progress against the approved project schedule.
- Ensure proper sequencing of MEP works with other trades.
- Identify site constraints and resolve technical issues in coordination with the Project Manager and consultants.

B. Electrical Works
- Supervise electrical installation including DBs, cabling, lighting, power points, switches, sockets, earthing and related systems.
- Check cable routing, termination, dressing and identification.
- Ensure installation is as per approved SLD, shop drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Verify electrical load schedules and DB schedules.
- Coordinate with utility / specialist vendors wherever required.

C. HVAC Works
- Supervise HVAC installation including ducting, insulation, piping, indoor/outdoor units, diffusers, grilles and controls.
- Coordinate HVAC works with ceiling, architectural and interior works.
- Ensure proper testing, balancing and commissioning.
- Review HVAC shop drawings and coordinate with consultants / vendors.
- Monitor HVAC installation quality and compliance with approved specifications.

D. Plumbing & Fire Fighting Works
- Supervise water supply, drainage, sanitary and plumbing installations.
- Ensure proper slope, pressure testing and leakage testing.
- Coordinate installation of sanitary fixtures and plumbing accessories.
- Supervise fire-fighting / sprinkler works wherever included in the project scope.
- Ensure testing and commissioning of plumbing and fire-fighting systems.

E. Drawings & Technical Coordination
- Review tender drawings, IFC drawings, shop drawings and approved specifications.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Prepare / coordinate RFI and technical clarification requirements.
- Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural and structural requirements.
- Maintain latest approved drawings at site.




- Assist in preparation and review of as-built drawings.

F. Quality Control
- Ensure MEP works are executed as per approved quality standards.
- Raise WIR / inspection requests for completed works.
- Ensure MIR, checklists, ITPs and method statements are followed.
- Inspect materials delivered to site and verify against approved makes and specifications.
- Conduct inspections before concealment of MEP services.
- Ensure testing reports are maintained and submitted.
- Monitor rectification and closure of quality observations and snags.

G. Testing & Commissioning
- Coordinate testing and commissioning of MEP systems.
- Ensure required test reports are prepared and approved.
- Coordinate with specialist agencies and vendors.
- Conduct functional testing and demonstrations with the client / consultant.
- Ensure all commissioning observations are closed before handover.

H. Site Coordination & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants and client representatives.
- Monitor manpower and productivity of MEP subcontractors.
- Check material requirements and coordinate with the Purchase / Store team.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid project delays.
- Monitor subcontractor work progress and quality.
- Verify subcontractor measurements and work completion as required.

I. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily progress updates for MEP activities.
- Submit DPR / EOD reports as per company requirements.
- Maintain inspection and testing records.
- Maintain drawing and document registers.
- Track material approvals and technical submittals.
- Maintain project-wise MEP documentation.
- Support preparation of project handover and O&M; documentation.

J. Safety
- Ensure all MEP activities are carried out safely.
- Ensure workers use required PPE.
- Follow approved safety procedures and permit-to-work requirements.
- Report unsafe conditions and incidents immediately.
- Coordinate with the Safety Officer for corrective actions.
- Ensure proper safety during electrical, hot work, work-at-height and other high-risk activities.

1. Commercial & Quantity Responsibilities

- Review MEP BOQ quantities against drawings and site requirements.
- Identify quantity variations and additional / NT items.
- Support preparation of quantity statements and variation claims.
- Verify subcontractor quantities and measurements.




- Coordinate with the Estimation / Billing team for technical inputs.
- Identify material wastage and control consumption.
- Assist in material reconciliation.

1. Project Handover Responsibilities

- Ensure all MEP works are completed and snag-free.
- Prepare and submit testing & commissioning reports.
- Coordinate preparation of MEP as-built drawings.
- Ensure O&M; manuals are submitted.
- Collect warranty certificates and equipment documents.
- Prepare equipment / asset lists.
- Ensure spare materials are handed over to the client.
- Support final inspection and client handover.
- Close all MEP-related observations before project completion.

1. Key Performance Areas (KRA)

- Timely completion of MEP works as per project schedule.
- Quality and compliance of MEP installations.
- Timely closure of inspections and snags.
- Effective coordination with all project stakeholders.
- Material and manpower productivity.
- Reduction of rework and wastage.
- Timely submission of DPR, WIR, MIR and technical documentation.
- Timely testing and commissioning.
- Successful project handover with complete MEP documentation.
- Compliance with company and project safety requirements.

1. Qualification & Experience

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical or relevant Engineering discipline. Experience: Typically 3–7 years of relevant experience in construction, commercial interiors, fit-out, MEP contracting or building services projects.

1. Authority & Accountability

The MEP Engineer is accountable for the quality, safety, coordination, documentation, and timely execution of MEP works assigned to the project, and must immediately escalate technical, commercial, safety, or schedule-related issues to the Project Manager. Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month
