Role Description The Medical Coder – EM OP Specialty is a full-time, in office role based in Coimbatore. This role involves reviewing outpatient Evaluation and Management (EM) clinical documentation and assigning accurate medical codes in accordance with established guidelines and payer requirements.

The Medical

Coder will validate medical necessity, ensure proper use of medical terminology, and verify completeness and consistency of patient records. Daily responsibilities include working closely with clinical and billing teams to resolve coding discrepancies, supporting audit and compliance initiatives,



and contributing to revenue cycle accuracy. The role also includes maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding regulations, payer policies, and specialty-specific coding standards.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated Coding Experience and proficiency in Medical Coding for outpatient EM and specialty services.
- Knowledge of Health Information Management practices and related workflows.
- Strong understanding of Medical Terminology relevant to outpatient and specialty care.
- Professional credential such as RHIT or equivalent certification in health information or coding is preferred.
- Familiarity with ICD, CPT, HCPCS, and payer-specific coding and billing guidelines.
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to meet productivity and quality targets.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and coding/billing software tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in an on-site team environment.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Life Sciences, or a related healthcare field is beneficial.
