As a Project Manager (Technical), you will play a key project delivery role within the PCE Office, providing flexible support across engineering programmes based on business and project priorities. You will take ownership of defined Work Packages and coordinate project activities to ensure delivery against Quality, Cost, and Schedule (QCD) objectives. Working as a core member of the Integrated Project Team (IPT), you will manage project planning, schedules, risks, actions, costs, and project data while collaborating with cross-functional and international teams. The role also provides a structured development pathway towards Senior Project Manager positions through cross-programme exposure, mentoring, and professional development.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of assigned projects and Work Packages and ensure delivery against Quality, Cost, and Schedule (QCD) objectives.
- Support Senior Project Managers in the day-to-day delivery and management of engineering projects.
- Develop and maintain project structuration frameworks, including PBS, WBS, OBS, RBS, and CBS.
- Define Work Package objectives, deliverables, budgets, duration, and ownership.
- Develop and maintain the Project Development Plan (PDP) throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the definition of project development approaches, responsibilities, governance, meeting rituals, and decision-making processes.
- Develop initial project and Work Package cost estimates covering Non-Recurring Cost (NRC) and Recurring Cost (RC).
- Develop and maintain project Development Logic (DEVL), including Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements, Key Design Drivers (KDDs), milestones, and project flowcharts.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams and Work Breakdown Structure activities.
- Participate in Integrated Project Team (IPT) meetings and manage meeting minutes and action tracking.
- Maintain project schedules, risk registers, action logs, and project data in Planisware OSMOZ or equivalent project management tools.
- Prepare project status reports, governance packs, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Develop and maintain Work Package and project-level schedules aligned with the Master Integrated Schedule.
- Identify and monitor project milestones, dependencies, and critical path activities.

- Establish and maintain project baselines and track scope, cost, and schedule changes.
- Monitor RC/NRC costs, technical progress, milestones, deliverables, KDDs, and Earned Value data.
- Coordinate project schedules and dependencies across UK, France, and US teams.
- Maintain APQP timelines and monitor the maturity of sensitive project deliverables.
- Manage project risks and opportunities and maintain risk mitigation plans.
- Identify project weak signals and recommend proactive risk mitigation actions.
- Support risk workshops, margin analysis, and project review activities.
- Perform cost, schedule, and risk impact assessments for project changes.
- Raise and track Engineering Change Requests and Change Notices through the PLM system.
- Support configuration management and engineering change control processes.
- Assess and monitor technical, schedule, and financial project margins.
- Support customer planning, scope management, and technical coordination activities.
- Represent assigned projects in IPT and project governance meetings.
- Build effective relationships with cross-functional and international project teams.
- Manage legacy and historic project activities, including close-out plans, concessions, warranties, and customer correspondence.

Job Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrable project management experience within an engineering environment.
- Proven experience delivering engineering projects against Quality, Cost, and Schedule (QCD) objectives.
- Strong experience in project structuration using PBS, WBS, OBS, RBS, and CBS or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience developing and maintaining Project Development Plans (PDPs) or equivalent project management plans.
- Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, cost management, monitoring, and control.
- Experience managing Work Packages and cross-functional project teams within a matrix organisation.
- Working knowledge of Non-Recurring Cost (NRC) and Recurring Cost (RC) estimation methodologies.
- Experience developing bottom-up cost estimates and aligning them with programme targets.
- Robust risk and opportunity management experience.
- Experience identifying Customer Critical to Quality (CTQ) requirements and project milestones.
- Experience developing project flowcharts, development logic, and mitigation plans.
- Knowledge of technical, schedule, and financial margin management.
- Experience with multi-level scheduling from Master Integrated Schedules to detailed Work Package schedules.
- Knowledge of stage-gate engineering and product development lifecycles.
- Experience managing project baselines, changes, and impact assessments
