Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Draftsman to prepare detailed engineering, fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings for tensile membrane structures, steel structures, and related fabricated components. The candidate should have strong knowledge of AutoCAD, mechanical/structural detailing, fabrication processes, welding, and steel components and should be able to convert design and engineering inputs into accurate production-ready drawings.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare accurate 2D mechanical and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD.

· Prepare General Arrangement (GA) drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings.

· Prepare detailed drawings for MS/SS pipes, structural sections, columns, beams, trusses, base plates, anchor plates, brackets, cleats, connection plates, flanges, cable/membrane supporting components, and custom steel assemblies.

· Prepare drawings showing dimensions, tolerances, hole locations, welding details, material thicknesses, and specifications.

· Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and material take-offs from approved drawings.

· Understand and apply standard welding symbols and fabrication practices.

· Coordinate with the fabrication team to ensure drawings are practical and production-ready.

· Coordinate with project and site teams for installation requirements and site modifications.

· Modify drawings based on client, consultant, engineer, production, or site comments.

· Prepare drawings based on actual site measurements where required.

· Prepare as-built drawings after project completion.

· Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, and technical documentation.





· Check drawings carefully before release to minimize fabrication errors and material wastage.

· Assist the engineering team in developing practical mechanical solutions for customized projects.

Technical Knowledge Required

· Mechanical engineering drawings and structural steel fabrication.

· MS and SS fabrication, pipes, tubes, plates, and structural sections.

· Welding and fabrication processes; bolted and welded connections.

· Cutting, bending, drilling, machining, tolerances, and fits.

· Assembly and installation drawings.

· Basic understanding of structural and mechanical components.

· Material specifications and preparation of BOM.

Software Skills

Essential: AutoCAD 2D, MS Excel, MS Office.

Preferred: AutoCAD 3D, SketchUp, or similar engineering/design software.

Qualification

ITI – Mechanical Draftsman / Draughtsman Mechanical, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.

Experience

Preferred: 2 years experience

· Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
