Job Summary

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in freight/container design, structural fabrication, and sheet-metal engineering. The ideal candidate should have experience working with container manufacturers or engineering companies such as Transafe, DCM Containers, APPL, SW Metaform, Braithwaite, or similar organizations.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and modifying container designs, preparing detailed manufacturing drawings, performing basic structural calculations, and coordinating with production, fabrication, quality, and procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop ISO freight containers, special-purpose containers, and fabricated structures.
- Prepare detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, or similar CAD software.
- Prepare GA drawings, fabrication drawings, BOMs, part drawings and assembly drawings.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable ISO container standards, customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Perform basic structural calculations, load checks and design verification for container components.
- Work closely with production and fabrication teams to resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Coordinate with welding, fabrication, quality, procurement and vendors.
- Review drawings and incorporate engineering changes,



customer modifications and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Support prototype development, inspection, testing and design validation.
- Maintain engineering documentation, revision control and design records.
- Identify opportunities for design optimization, weight reduction and material/cost savings without compromising structural integrity.

Required Skills

- Solid knowledge of mechanical design and structural fabrication.
- Practical experience in container design/manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Good knowledge of sheet-metal design, structural sections, welding and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks; Creo/Inventor experience is an advantage.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD&T; and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, fasteners, weld symbols and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of DFM/DFA and design-for-fabrication principles.
- Basic knowledge of structural analysis and load calculations.
- Experience preparing BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
- Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
- Candidates with experience in container manufacturing/design companies will be strongly preferred.

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
