This is a project based opportunity for Freelancers/Independent Consultants.

Our client, a stealth mode start up, is looking to engage with a Consultant, to support a market feasibility study focused on the Indian semiconductor industry, with benchmarking against established ecosystems in Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore. The role involves deep-dive research, policy analysis, and market assessment to evaluate industry structure, competitiveness, and growth potential.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive market feasibility analysis of the Indian semiconductor ecosystem.
- Benchmark India’s semiconductor value chain against mature markets such as Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore.
- Perform primary and secondary research across semiconductor manufacturing, design, OSAT, and EDA ecosystems.
- Lead and execute SPIN-based (Situation, Problem, Implication, Need-Payoff) interview programs with industry stakeholders (20+ interviews per engagement).
- Develop market sizing models, pricing architecture frameworks, and demand-supply assessments.
- Analyze regulatory frameworks, government policies, and incentive schemes impacting semiconductor investments.




- Evaluate compliance and standards landscape including global and India-specific regulations.
- Prepare structured insights, reports, and presentations for strategic decision-making.

Skills Required

- Min. 2-3 years experience in semiconductor policy and regulatory research
- Academic background of electronics engineering or semicon specific courses (BE / M.Sc. Electronics)
- Min. working experience of 2-5 years conducting primary market research for B2B technology markets with Semiconductor sector specialisation along with, working on market sizing, pricing architecture and market feasibility projects
- Prior: led 20+ SPIN-based interview programmes for technology market entry.
- Experience of financial modeling preferred but not mandatory
- Knowledge of industry specific regulatory standards (for eg. IEEE Standards for DFT Compliance, SEMI E187, EAR etc.)
- Have necessary setup for work from home and willingness to travel (domestic) as per project requirements.
- Deep familiarity with ISM/DLI scheme documentation, ITAR/EAR compliance frameworks, and IEEE 1838/1500 standards literature.
- Fluent in EDA tool ecosystems, OSAT operations, and ISM policy framework.
