Manager - RM Trims:
RM & Trims Manager To manage the end-to-end procurement, planning, inventory control, and supplier management of fabrics, accessories, trims , and packing materials required for garment production. The role ensures uninterrupted production through timely material availability while achieving quality, cost, and inventory objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Planning & Procurement
- Develop RM & trims procurement plans based on production schedules and customer orders.
- Ensure timely sourcing and ordering of fabrics, labels, buttons, zippers, threads, elastics, interlinings, packaging materials, and other trims .
- Coordinate closely with Merchandising, PPC, Production, and Sourcing teams.
- Monitor material requirement planning (MRP) and forecast future requirements.
1. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard fabric and trims suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and supply agreements.
- Build strategic partnerships with key vendors to ensure consistent supply.
- Track supplier performance on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
1. Inventory Management
- Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid stock-outs and excess inventory.
- Monitor RM and trims stock, slow-moving inventory, and obsolete inventory.
- Establish inventory norms and reorder mechanisms.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits and reconciliation.
1. Production Coordination
- Ensure material readiness as per production plans.
- Coordinate with warehouses and production teams on material issuance.
- Support production planning teams in resolving material shortages or delays.
- Manage urgent procurement requirements for customer commitments.
1. Quality Assurance
- Ensure all incoming fabrics and trims meet approved quality standards.
- Coordinate fabric and trims inspections with QA teams.
- Resolve supplier-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor testing requirements and compliance standards.
1. Cost Optimization
- Drive material cost reduction initiatives.
- Identify alternative materials and suppliers without compromising quality.
- Track market trends in fabrics, trims , and raw materials.
- Support annual budgeting and cost-saving projects.
1. Systems & Process Management
- Maintain accurate data in ERP systems.
- Generate and analyze material availability reports, inventory reports, and procurement dashboards.
- Implement best practices in supply chain and materials management.
- Establish SOPs and process controls for material procurement and inventory.

Qualifications
- Graduate in Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, Supply Chain, Operations, or related discipline.
- MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management preferred.
Experience
- 8-15 years of experience in garment manufacturing, textile, apparel, or fashion industry.
- Minimum 5 years handling fabric sourcing, trims procurement, or materials management.
- Experience working with domestic and international suppliers preferred.
