Role & responsibilities

- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and power-electronic issues in Electric Buses.

- Work on power converters and power electronic systems, including understanding of system architecture, functionality, testing and troubleshooting.

- Collaborate with Design and R&D; teams for development, validation and improvement of EV electrical systems.

- Analyse vehicle-level faults using CAN communication, CAN logs and diagnostic tools.

- Identify root causes of vehicle electrical/electronic failures and coordinate with OEMs for corrective actions.

- Support testing, commissioning and validation of EV bus systems.

- Work on communication between vehicle ECUs and other electronic control systems.

- Develop and analyse diagnostic procedures, fault codes and troubleshooting methodologies.

- Work with OCPP and OCPI protocols used in EV charging projects, with an understanding of charger-to-backend and roaming/charging communication.

- Coordinate with Charging Infrastructure, Software, OEM and Operations teams to resolve vehicle and charging-related issues.

- Review technical specifications, diagnostic reports, test results and system documentation.

- Support field teams during vehicle deployment, commissioning and technical issue resolution.

- Ensure timely closure of recurring vehicle diagnostic and electrical/electronic issues

Key Skills

Power Electronics

- Solid understanding of Power Electronics and Power Conversion systems.

- Hands-on experience with DC-DC converters, DC-AC inverters,



onboard chargers, and related power electronic systems.

- Understanding of the electrical architecture of EVs/EV buses.

- Ability to diagnose failures and analyse power-electronic system performance.

Design & R&D;

- Experience working with Design and R&D; teams on EV/electrical systems.

- Understanding of product development, testing, validation and troubleshooting.

- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and system architecture.

- Experience in root-cause analysis and engineering problem solving.

CAN Communication & Vehicle Diagnostics

- Strong hands-on knowledge of CAN communication and CAN protocols.

- Experience in analysing CAN logs/messages, DBC files, signals, and fault codes.

- Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic tools and troubleshooting software.

- Understanding of communication between VCU, BMS, inverter, charger, motor controller and other ECUs.

- Knowledge of CAN-based diagnostics such as UDS will be an added advantage.

EV Charging Protocols

- Working knowledge of OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol).

- Working knowledge of OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface).

- Understanding of EV charger communication, charging sessions, transactions, and backend integration.

- Ability to troubleshoot vehicle-charger communication and charging-related issues.

- A proactive, self-driven, and result-oriented professional with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
