About the Role
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant with a robust foundation in accounting and financial controllership, complemented by experience in a high-growth startup or mid-sized organization. The ideal candidate should have developed robust technical accounting expertise in a large, well-governed organization and later applied that experience in a energetic environment where ownership, agility, and business partnering are equally important.
Reporting closely to the CFO, you will own financial controllership, statutory reporting,
budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting while partnering with business leaders to drive informed financial decisions and strengthen governance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Controllership
● Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
● Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with Ind AS and applicable statutory requirements.
● Own the General Ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, provisioning, fixed assets,
accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
● Lead financial consolidations and coordinate with statutory, internal, and tax auditors.
● Ensure robust accounting practices and strengthen financial controls across the organization.
Financial Planning & Analysis
● Lead the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), budgeting, and rolling forecast process in partnership with business leaders.
● Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases to support strategic decisions.
● Prepare management MIS, dashboards,
and variance analyses for the CFO and leadership team.
● Monitor financial performance and provide actionable insights to improve business outcomes.
Business Partnering
● Partner with Technology, Operations, Product, Business, and Corporate Functions to support strategic initiatives.
● Provide commercial and financial insights for investment decisions, resource allocation, and cost optimization.
● Support leadership with financial analysis for new initiatives and organizational priorities.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
● Strengthen internal financial controls and governance frameworks.
● Drive closure of internal and statutory audit observations.
● Ensure compliance with Ind AS, Companies Act requirements, GST, TDS, and other statutory regulations.
● Continuously improve finance processes, reporting standards, and ERP controls.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
● Chartered Accountant (CA).
● 5–8 years of post-qualification experience.
● Strong accounting and controllership foundation developed in a large organization such as an MNC, listed company, Big 4, or other well-governed enterprise.
● Recent experience working in a startup, digital business, or mid-sized organization with end-to-end ownership.
Proven experience in:
- Financial reporting
- Month-end and year-end close.
- Statutory, internal, and tax audits.
- Budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Internal financial controls and compliance.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems (Zoho, Tally Prime, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft
Dynamics, or equivalent).
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience in technology, digital platforms, e-commerce, fintech, or other high-growth
organizations.
- Experience with finance automation, business intelligence, or AI-enabled finance
tools.
- Some Exposure to strategic finance, fundraising, or investor due diligence.
